We agree with all the other reviews that praised the accommodation and the staff. Our room (in the annexe, upper floor) was especially spacious and comfortable, and the setting beautiful, even in February.

We stayed at The Burn in June on our road trip from Memphis to New Orleans via Highway 61 - a great way to go. It was a pleasure to meet Ms Nell and our hostess who gave us a tour of her beautifully restored home. There was nothing pretentious about our hostess and she was one of the most engaging women we met on our travels.
The Clara room was like a visit to a colonial homestead in the outback - with modern comforts. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed chatting to the other guests - international and locals.
Natchez was sooooo hot but we were directed to some excellent eating (and drinking) places by that mighty river Australians can only envy.
Can I suggest doing a bit of Civil War research about Vicksburg and Natchez before arriving - it makes the whole experience more rounded. As well there is the Natchez Trace to explore and learn about. With more time we would have based ourselves in Natchez and visited the old cotton plantations and visited Jackson and Greenwood.
On your way down from Memphis go to Clarksdale and Indianola etc for the blues and after Natchez go to New Orleans via St Francisville.

My husband and I were traveling through Natchez on our way back to Dallas, and really wanted to finish our vacation on a relaxed note! The Burn, along with Nell, Mary and The Greens provided us with one of the loveliest weekends ever. The accommodations were comfortable beyond compare, the grounds and home just breathtaking. Breakfast was truly Southern and the tour fascinating. We definitely will return next year, for a longer stay! My compliments, just above and beyond.

The staff was warm and friendly. We were given a tour of the home by our hostess who was very knowledgeable. Breakfast was great, especially the breakfast bread pudding.
Our first experience in an antebellum home. Would definitely come back.

We had visited this magnificent 1834-house on a spring pilgrimage tour in 2010 and came back to relax during two nights just after tropical storm Isaac. This is a very welcoming place and Ms. Nell and her team will do everything to make you feel at home. The room was exquisite with a southern accent, and everything was clean and impeccable. Breakfast is superb, served in a beautifully furnished dining-room. The grits, the bread-pudding were delicious, everything is home-made. We much enjoyed the beautifully landscaped swimming pool, the gorgeous gardens and terraces: Isaac had visited two days earlier but you could not tell! Do not miss the very exclusive tour of the house, offered to the guests, with a complimentary glass of wine. One of our top experiences in a B&B, we will come back! A great place when visiting Natchez and to relax, getting the best the South can offer.

I recently went to Natchez for a family get together and we stayed at The Burn for several days. It was a true indulgence in complete comfort that only southerners seem to be able to pull off. Miss Nell and her crew lovingly looked after our every need. It was my first American B and B experience. I hate to try another because it will be hard to match the Burn. Thank you, Elizabeth
