“Interesting place”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

We did a quick bike trip all around this historic cemetery unfortunately it was a little too brief and we didn't really stop and look at much but it is well worth it. There is some self-guided information if you choose to use it. This would be a great place to spend more time and learn.

“Fascinating self-guided tour”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

The self-guided tour can only be done properly with a map or other form of guide - we used an audio CD that was loaned to us by the Oak Hill B&B, where we stayed. The CD gives directions and an excellent narration of what we are seeing. Watch the road carefully -- the guide post numbers are often hidden by overgrown shrubs and bushes and sometimes set back from the roadway by as much as 10 feet.

Check out the Natchez Visitor Center for more information and guide materials.

“Pilgrimage 2013”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

One of my favorite places. We actually went there twice during the visit. You definitely need to either buy one of the cemetery books (they have a really good one at several of the home museums priced at $39 or you can buy a paper back version for $10) or do some internet research to fully appreciate the tour.

“A lovely, haunting cemetery.”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

A beautiful place to walk. Many historic persons are buried here - you will recognize many of the family names. At least two Confederate sections with many Confederate graves scattered throughout.

“Take time to read the headstones”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

We visited the cemetery in October 2012. It was a rainy afternoon. We are always inspired when we walk thru a pioneer cemetery...so much history. Be sure to take time to read the headstones, especially the inscription for the "Angel who turns around"...a sad story.
