“Indian Mounds”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

Although a marker to tell you a little about the mounds there was not much there. You travel off the Natchez trace (which is a beautiful drive) to the Emerald Mounds. It is a fascinating walk up the mound thinking about the Natchez Indians and their rituals, culture and the caste system that they lived under. If a relative dies then their family dies with them. I love my family ..but..

“A wonderful view and interesting history.”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

The view from the top is very nice and it is a piece of Native American culture that you don;t usually hear about. The informational sign at the bottom includes a small arrow that states, "You are invited to the top." How much more polite does that get? I felt it would be rude to decline the invitation and I am glad I made the easy walk up the paved walkway and then steps to the top. It's a huge mound so kids will love it.

“Great for the family!!”

We were there this past weekend with a family flying a kite. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy this unique Indian Mound.
