We stumbled upon Carriage House in route back home from a long weekend of Plantation B&B’s.
Our timing was perfect for Sunday brunch & we called ahead for a reservation....we were seated promptly, our waiter was gracious & informed us of what all the buffet offered. A nice variety of salads, entrees & sides along with 2 desserts to choose from.
It was a fun relaxing experience.
If you’re passing through stop in ..you won’t regret it!

This restaurant was recommended for lunch during a recent visit to Natchez. Contrary to all the great reviews, our visit left nothing to be desired. Not only was service extremely slow, our waitress came back three times after ordering to ask us what we had ordered. At one point she arrived with food that she had no idea where it belonged. My husband's sandwich came out ten minutes before my salad. When my salad finally emerged from the kitchen she initially brought it to the wrong table. Quality of food was average and nothing to rave about. Save yourself some time and money and go elsewhere. So disappointing.

You can't beat having a tour of historic Stanton Hall with all of its elegant antebellum trappings, then enjoying lunch featuring chef Beth Blackmon's old-fashioned southern cooking. Located at 401 High Street in Natchez, Mississippi, Stanton Hall's Carriage House Restaurant is open from 11 to 2 Wednesday through Sunday. It truly is a fine dining experience, unlike any lunch you've ever had. My wife and I started with tomato bisque, fried pork skins with pimento cheese and shrimp remoulade consisting of romaine lettuce, fried pickled green tomatoes and deviled eggs. For entrees, we chose southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables and grilled top sirloin with hand-cut fries, house-made steak sauce and green beans with bacon. For dessert, we shared warm pecan cobbler with praline ice cream and a root beer float with vanilla ice cream. Afterward, tourists are encouraged to walk down the hall to the excellent gift shop filled with antiques.

I grew up eating at the Carriage House and the food and service remain excellent! A wonderful place to meet old friends and it's always fun to count the many tourists who visit Stanton Hall and the Carriage House. A must for locals and visitors!

Recommended. Located on the Stanton Hall antebellum home property in downtown Natchez and the menu looked great. We arrived just after they opened at 11 am and folks were already waiting for a table - I would recommend reservations. We were seated right away and presented with the Sunday Brunch buffet menu. Just to be brief, we had: mimosas, turtle soup, fried chicken, baked salmon, ham, cheese grits, candied bacon, cheesy hash, roasted brussel sprouts, cream corn, biscuits and cinnamon roll bread pudding. This is embarrasing, but we ate it all. Everything was outstanding - cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. Fun, charming atmosphere with all types of diners from bikers to business folks to families. One of the best dining experiences in a while. We'll be back. The only negative was the time to get our check was excessive, but this was minor and they were packed. wait staff was very friendly and accomodating
