Description: At Restaurant 1818 you will dine in what was originally the Men's and Ladies' Parlors of the Main House. These two parlors are adorned with authentic period crystal gasoliers. These impressive reproduction chandeliers and wall sconces were custom made for Monmouth by the artisans at Waterford Crystal in Ireland. Guests have complete dining freedom when they reserve a table at Restaurant 1818. Here guests can select menu items on an a la carte basis from the gourmet appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts offered that evening. A full wine list and wine by the glass program is available to ensure your dining experience is the very best Natchez has to offer! Private dining by candlelight is also offered for 8 to 12 people at the main dining room table.

“Good food, service, atmosphere”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

My wife and I and a friend each had the 5-course prix-fixe and we all thought it was excellent. Two of us had the filet, one the redfish, soup, salad, appetizer, dessert, everything was just great. The waitress was gracious, service very good too.

“You've Got To Be Kidding!”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

My husband and I, along with friends, recently dined at 1818 Monmouth. We had been warned in reviews that the experience for some was not so great, but we certainly didn't expect the reviews to be so accurate! We ordered "small plates"-quail, carrots, collards, and chow chow. The quail was a very small mound of meat about 4 small slices, 3 carrot slices, and literally 1/2 teaspoon of collards on one side of the tiny mound of quail and 1 teaspoon of collards on the other side!! That's it. Granted, many restaurant entrees are entirely too big but never have I experienced a meal like that. It amazes me that they aren't embarrassed to serve such portions. The real kicker was when the waitress asked it we were too full for dessert!!! Really? Are you kidding me?
You may order "large plates" and maybe they are really large but be forewarned. If you order a "small plate" be prepared and eat before you go!

“Fine dining in Natchez”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

We dine here frequently when we’re in Natchez. Both the food and the service are excellent. What’s more, eating here presents the opportunity to dine in the formal parlors of the original plantation house.

“Intimate fine dining in a perfect venue”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Had one diner here while staying at Monmouth.
As its a small venue with small numbers dining, the food is prepared with much care and attention to detail.
We had a great meal with good service but its the beautiful old vintage room that sets off the experience.
If you are staying at Monmouth, you must have at least one diner there, and if you are passing by and want a fine dining experience in a one of a kind period setting, go.
