“Beautiful antebellum mansion”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

I really enjoyed my trip to this mansion thanks to a recommendation from the tourist centre by the river. The tour guide/ park ranger was very very interesting and informative. It was great to be able to walk around the grounds and see the slave quarters. This is definitely a place where a car is needed to get around as there doesn't seem to be any public transport.

“Beautiful house”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

I was a little disappointed that the outside of the house was under construction and had been for three years! Our tour guide was good. I would love to see it when the construction is completed.

“Just o.k”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

It is not the most impressive mansion in the area and our tour was very flat. I would go to Longwood instead.

“Must Visit-worthwhile”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

The house was under restoration during our visit so we couldn't go inside, but the out buildings, kitchen, slave quarters, carriage house, and the entire grounds and gardens were available to explore. The Park Service maintains this National Historic Park and will answer any questions you have. A lot of interesting history ia available in the buildings especially the slave quarters.

“Wonderful Plantation and tour”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

This plantation is being maintained by the Park Service and they are doing a great job. There is a little gift shop at the end of the tour. You can tour the grounds afterwards to your hearts content.
