500 pounds for two nights for two people which is a rip off access to the swimming pool you throughout would be just bring trunks and swim you have to BUY a swimming hat and flip flops to use the pool also on top off the fee for staying int the hotel you have to pay on top of that to park and the hotel is too too hot but the bathroom facilities and the beds are comfy and the bar is nice but out of the two days one day the slopes were closed in which then there is nothing to do and the hotel and resort can become very boring. But the staff seemed nice and helpful when needed.

Having stayed in all the hotels in the village over the past 10 years, I can pass my judgement that this is the best for overall space & facilities.
The pool & sauna/steam room are of a very high standard, as is the main lounge area. We used the lounge both late afternoon & after dinner, and on both occasions felt very relaxed yet received 5 star attention from the bar staff!
We would use this hotel again over its sister hotel across the road and the resorts other establishments.
Only problem encountered was that the reception staff are not familiar with surrounding restaurants & gave false information on 2 occasions.
Overall very good.

A excellent choice in Sierra Nevada! Very nice SPA! Very nice social areas and a "mountainfeeling" at the hotel. Spacious rooms. Easy to park the Car under the hotel, and also easy to leave the skiingequipment. Just a minute walk to the Pradollano center.

We booked 2 adjoining rooms in the level of this Hotel. Service, cleanliness, food and location was the best. We snowboard twice a year. Normally we go to 3 valleys in France. We fancied a change and due to the whole experience would choose this hotel again. In fact got back today and we are booking again for next year. The children's snowboard equipment was €12 a day. Could not believe it. Booked via the hotel. Amazing location and Hotel made it. Great spa to relax those hurting muscles. Snowboarding facilities were great.

Room Tip: Pick the level. It is the best. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. A real gem. In fact I would...

The hotel has large well appointed if not a bit shabby common areas. Rooms are ok. The doubles are actually 2 beds which is often the case in Spain. The bathrooms are small and old, but there was plenty of hot water for the shower however they are unheated so freezing. The beds are ok, but lets face it after a day on the slopes you could probably sleep soundly on the floor!
Breakfast is great and generally the service from the staff is very good. The hotel could just do with a good refurb.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the front of the hotel as these get the sun and have a view. The rooms at...

There were a lot of good things about this hotel, we didn't have a 'bad' stay, but a few disappointments made me feel it could be so much better. We stayed for 3 nights, Wednesday to Saturday and it is worth noting the Friday night was 50% more expensive than the other two nights.

Firstly the good points - great location on the main square near the ski gondolas, clean hotel with friendly staff, good ski lockers, nice shower. These are big good points you can often take for granted.

Quite a few small (albeit petty) issues amounted to our stay being somewhat disappointing...

The swimming pool and sauna, etc, while free, required everyone to wear flip flops and swimming caps(!) with no exceptions except for bald people. I have been to a lot of spa hotels and never needed to wear a swimming cap! And as for flip flops, this is more understandable however I suggest if the hotel wishes you to wear them, they could provide the towelling slippers as others do.

We booked room only, whereas family members, staying at the same time, had three B&B bookings - but otherwise the same room standard. They each had dressing gowns (useful for wearing to the spa) and a tray of complimentary sweets in their rooms, we didn't. This seemed unnecessarily petty - although I can live without these touches and probably wouldn't have missed them if I had known no different. Incidentally, I do recommend paying for breakfast if you want to go up the mountain early - it was steep at 15 euros per person, but had a great range of options and the staff were helpful. Alternatively if you are skiing, the restaurant at the top of the gondola had fruit, yoghurts, etc and was not expensive at all.

The beds - like so many European 'double' rooms, we had two average comfort single beds pushed together - not particularly 4-star standard in my view.

The games room - again, petty but silly. There is a pool table and games room on the 2nd floor. However we were not permitted to use this between 5pm-9pm (when you would want to, after skiing). I question why the hotel bothers having these amenities if they are not useable when you would typically wish to do so.

Parking - car parking is a steep c.24 euros a night. If you can be bothered, and want to save on this, I suggest parking in the main car park at the entrance to the resort after dropping off your bags.

Noise - the influx of weekend visitors on Thursday and then on Friday meant our sleep was interrupted from midnight to c.2am on both nights - the room doors are not soundproofed in the slightest. I am not sure what the hotel can readily do about this other than advise late arrivals to keep the noise down in the corridors - but if you are planning a visit I suggest you ask for a quiet room or at least one at the end of the corridor where you should have fewer passers-by.

So in summary, the hotel was ok. It was pretty expensive for what it was, but I suppose with the premium location and lack of other 4-star standard hotels in the area, this is to be expected. The same goes for breakfast and car parking. If I return I will probably look for a 3-star hotel or self-catering apartment with a better bed where I don't pay unnecessarily for services I can't readily take advantage of.

Room Tip: I suggest you ask for a quiet room or at least one at the end of the corridor where you should have...

PRO's

Clean, friendly & helpful staff, good location, games room, free use of swimming pool, good secure ski lockers, lots of wardrobe space. breakfast served from 8-10.30 and dinner 8-10. champers/sparkling wine & coffe & OJ complimentary @ breakfast :D

CON's
food! always luke warm (even the yoghurts) apart from the freshly cooked to order items. not much variety of food day by day - got a bit fed up of eating the same things :( underneath parking at 24 euros per day (apparently the main resorts car park is much cheaper and only 2mins away). booked half board - 2 people on reception said it inc drinks and we get free bar between 10 - 1 but this was not the case. drinks are not included with meals only breakfast.

Book in advance for cheaper rates book direct and sign up for mas rewards to get discount, otherwise its very expensive and even more so on weekends. Jacuzzi 20 euros per person for an hours use. Need to buy a swimming cap for 3.50 euros and must have flip flops and dressing gown from reception good idea to take flip flops and a swimming cap with you. Beds are hard & very hot bedrooms although it's ok if you turn the radiator off a few hours before you go to sleep. Only BBC World news and no HDMI port to use own laptop apple tv ect. Wifi in room is poor so no media streaming or fast downloads I didn't check however I would guess approx 2MB connection. Slopes very busy at weekends, mon to Fri best time to ski / board. Chair lifts are busy 1st thing however to be expected with this type of resort... As the resort as a whole is relatively cheap could be a good idea to go room only or perhaps even self catering. We would not go half board again at this particular hotel. 3-4 days on the slopes max or you will be getting board of the piste selection. Conditions on the slopes can be very windy and very cold with good and bad weather in quick succession it is a good idea to pack for both poor and excellent conditions even if you are only staying for 2-3 nights.

On the whole well worth a visit we really enjoyed our 6 night stay @ Sierra Nevada & Hotel Melia Sierra Nevada.

Room Tip: We booked a room without a mountain view and ended up getting it anyway :D Sign up for reward scheme...
