“Pleasant surprise”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

My husband and I were traveling through on motorcycle and stayed at hotel close by. We wanted to walk so The Buckeye was close. What an awesome surprise for us. Great food, great wine list and great service. We sat at the bar and it was Sunday night, it was busy,,,

This is a Mill Valley institution I've been told. We had steak and scallops. Food delicious and service friendly and professional. As visitors from the city it seems to be in the middle of nowhere, but is only a 20 minute drive from 3rd St (out of peak). If you want a comfortable and relaxed dining experience with a touch of class, you couldn't do better. If you don't want valet parking, try the commuter parking across the road.

“Great Food and Atmosphere!”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Mill Valley and looking for a nice, casual place to eat and unwind after a day of walking around San Francisco. We found the Buckeye Roadhouse very close to the hotel and thought we would give it a try. From the valet parking attendants to the hostess right away we felt we were in for a good experience.
Our party of 6 was seated right away on an active Sunday evening. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was very comfortable and casual. The star of the evening was most definitely the food! From the appetizers (try the oysters!!!!) to the entrees our meals were prepared as ordered and the ingredients fresh! An absolutely perfect ending to a great day!

“Been a long time but still great”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

Visiting the Bay Area from the UK for the first time in 12 years one of the first things we planned was dinner at the Buckeye as we'd been there a few times before.

Things haven't changed and we still love the place. Great atmosphere, it's comfortable but ales feels like a special night too.

We had scallops, flat iron steak and my 10 year's eyes nearly popped out when a huge rack of ribs arrived in front of her!

You have to go for the Smore's pie for dessert, fantastic.

Great food, attentive service. Still love it. One of my top 3 restaurants anywhere in the World.

“menu item to avoid”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

I love the Buckeye. I've been going for over 20 years. The brisket is heaven. The smoked chicken salad is not. The butter lettuce salad is heaven too.
