Very close to our home....and wonderful quality~ Many nights there is live entertainment which is a plus! This restaurant is always packed....as it's a gem in the middle of downtown Mill Valley!

The "hit" was the fried chicken - the best we have ever tasted, perfectly prepared. The "miss" was the rib-eye steak. It was undercooked (requested medium rare, but it was definitely rare), and almost as much fat as meat (not just marbled fat, which you would expect for a rib eye, but large hunks of inedible fat that had to be cut away or discreetly spit out - ick, very unappetizing). For $30, very disappointing. I'm not one to send food back, but probably should have in this case. Nonetheless, if we're in the area again, we would still go back for that fried chicken - yum!

We have been to this restaurant with friends occasionally, but never found it remarkable. This visit has convinced us not to return. Our food was improperly prepared (my husband tasted my sole with lemon caper sauce, which was overpoweringly acidic, and said he would have sent it back), and both our meals were "skimpy" portions, and the entire meal was a poor value. The restaurant is incredibly loud, and not just because the 3-deep people at the bar were encroaching on our table. On the positive side, they handle dietary restrictions graciously, and the server was very attentive.

Downtown Mill Valley's restaurant scene starts with a visit to the Bar at Bungalow, where you'll see the young and old watching sports on tv and clamoring for a seat! Then, grab a table in the cozy fireplace room (where it's a lot quieter) and enjoy some of the best food anywhere. The starters, like truffled french fries and brussel sprouts salad, are a must have, as well as entrees, like the regulars: kobe burger, lobster spaghetti, short ribs, and kickin' fried chicken. And the specials are awesome--we had venison that was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Don't leave without finishing your meal with coffee and beignets. Go to Bungalow 44, you won't be disappointed!!

There is nothing little about Buckeye Roadhouse's little sister, other than the more intimate floorplan, with it's quaint, stylish, and warm atmosphere. More efficient, but warmer, than the roadhouse feel of Buckeye, it still exudes a warm lodge feel that anchors this neighborhood favorite. An updated traditional steakhouse style menu, you will find classics like Steak Tartare or a Caesar, as well as nightly, locally sourced and delicious updates to the tired steakhouse concept. Every single thing on the menu was worth considering, and everything we ordered was stellar. Scott (or Sly as I misheard) was a consummate pro server. Great wine list, smashing bar, and nightly specials to keep you coming back. Actually, we're going back tonight.=]
