“Wonderful hiking trail & campround”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

Mt. Tamalpais is a special park close to the Bay Area. The drive going to the peak of Mt. Tam is scenic. The view from the top of the Mountain is exhilarating! Last weekend was a crisp and clear day that the Golden Gate Bridge was picture perfect and you can get scenic view of San Francisco.

The Hike going down Stinson beach is refreshing and the campground is nice and not crowded.

I highly recommend this State Park.

We really liked this park which is just north of the Golden Gate Bridge and which has outstanding views of San Francisco.

“Best view in the area”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

If you can fight thru the motion sickness from the crooked roads and make it up to the top, the view of the Bay Area is among the most spectacular I've ever experienced. You can see everything from the ocean, to SF and all the way to Oakland. Watching the fog roll in the bay from up there was almost magical. Lots of hiking, etc too but we didn't get a chance to do any of that.

“Great Hiking”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

This is an excellent and beautiful state park. We visited for about ½ day and hiked some of the trails including Oceanview. It is steep and winding, but a great hike. Bring plenty of water and good hiking shoes. You won’t be disappointed. It is a great stop, not very crowded, plenty of trails.

“Incredible View”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

Stopped here on a recommendation from a local while staying in Bolinas. it was foggy when we started the climb to the East Peak but once we arrived the fog had somewhat cleared off and what an incredible view of the bay area. The trail to the top would be a little difficult for some people so make sure you're up to it. There are restrooms at the top and another trail out to a peak with perhaps a better view. There is a paved easy walking trail around a lower section of the peak that starts at the same place as the trail to the top. If you have any qualms about walking to the top, take the paved trail for a good view.
