“Windy, windy, sometimes foggy but still spectacular”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

We toured the whole park, driving the ocean side as the fog rolled in. We did the trail to the ocean point and it was thrilling to watch the ocean become enraptured by fog. The windy roads give u a new perspective at every turn. Just be patient and enjoy!

“Awesome view of San Francisco”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

A bit of a drive from city up hill, windy road was a challenge for a flat lander from Florida but definitely worth it.

“hike, run or ride!”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Mt. Tam is such a great place to go for hiking, running, or riding. I'm very lucky to live in Marin County, and in going to Mt Tam I always forget how wonderful it is. Can get windy - bring layers. Bring a picnic!

“Lovely trails and fresh air”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

With views of the bay and the east bay. The trails are well managed and open to the views. The park has never been crowded when I've been there.

“Matt Davis/Steep Ravine Trail/East Peak”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

This is one of the best hikes in the SF Bay Area, truly scenic and fun to hike. Start at the Pantoll Station half-way up Mt. Tam and walk down the Matt Davis Trail to Stinson Beach (takes about 90 minutes). Eat lunch and play on the beach (or walk the town). Then hike up the Dipsea and then Steep Ravine Trail through redwoods and dripping ferns and waterfalls back up to Pantoll (takes about 2 hours). Strenuous but a must-do hike for anyone who wants to see a lot of California natureside. If you have an extra 90 minutes, drive to the top of the East Peak and walk the loop around it. On a clear day you can see the entire Bay Area and all the way to the Sierra Nevada mountains!
