This place looked appealing but we had a really unpleasant meal.
The starter was courgette fritters which were soggy and overcooked, appeared to be just lightly coated in flour and dumped in the deep fat fryer. We also had a plate of mixed breads with oil, the bread was just very boring chunks from a less than fresh baguette. It doesn't take any enterprise to crisp up a loaf in the oven and there are supermarkets round the corner selling part-baked ciabatta so it's not rocket science even if you don't want to go out looking for interesting bread.
The main courses were pretty nasty. Sea Bass was dry and uninteresting, Mushrooms and chestnuts in filo pastry looked unpleasant, the pastry was a soggy mess and the filling included a lot of big chunks of courgette which didn't blend very well with the mushrooms, no trace of chestnut apart from some sweetness, I suppose there might have been some puree in there.
With the main courses you were given a sad undressed chopped salad which included raw unions for that distinctive sweaty taste, plus a dish of overcooked carrots and cabbage. It looked like the chef just prepared and cooked a lot of vegetables and salad in advance canteen style. Altogether a not nice experience and a waste of an evening.
