We popped in without reserving a table which was no problem as it was mid-week, it was still busy but not so we couldn't get a good choice of tables.

The food was lovely, the staff were very friendly and the setting it very pretty. We have been here quiet a few times over the years and you can always rely on being served well presented and tasty food.

If you fancy a shared starter go for the Charcuterie Platter, it was fabulous and i thought good value for money.

The selection of deserts is great and there is something for everyone.

We will no doubt be back again soon.

Lovely restaurant/bar in a lovely setting. Can be quite expensive, but the food is reliably good and the staff are very helpful. Always a nice selection of guest ales and the menu changes often enough to keep it interesting.

Visited this place late Sunday afternoon having previously visited during the evening for a party. Food very good, staff very friendly but service towards the end was very slow, as we waited over 30 mins for the sweet. Would definitely visit this place again

This is a wonderful pub in a beautiful location. We had a family meal for a party of 9 on a busy Friday night. We couldn't fault the service and everything went really smoothly. For starter I had Baked Shropshire blue and red onion cheesecake with grape, walnut and apple salad - absolutely divine! Main was also tasty, chicken breast with pappardelle pasta, spinach, wild mushroom and parmesan sauce. We didn't order desserts but they looked fabulous. My daughter ordered the Ploughman's and was disappointed - it was served on an individual board & everything kept falling off. The apple had also seen better days & wasn't really edible. It was a rather poor dish & she had to order extra chips. Everyone else was happy, just a pity it was a poor choice of dish with the Ploughman's. Would recommend & would definitely return if back in the area. The prices are what you would expect to pay for the kind of food served and I would say well worth it.

Went to the pant for lunch with the family and sat outside as it was a very sunny day. Ordered at the bar as you have to do if sitting outside but this is no problem. Ordered Pate to start and sandwiches and chips to follow. The food came pretty quickly but one sandwich and one chips didn't arrive. I assumed the waiter has gone to fetch it but it didn't materialise. We didn't order pudding so I went to pay the tab after the meal and was presented with the bill for everything including the sandwich and chips that hadn't turned up. Pointed this out to the waitress who was very apologetic and took the meals off the bill but also took another sandwich off as compensation which I was impressed by. The rest of the food was absolutely gorgeous though, so despite the mishap I cannot complain as the venue, food and staff are all brilliant. Will definitely visit again.
