“October closure”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

We took our young grandson to visit greenfield it was ok but not really for very young, although he did enjoy the little tractors, which needed a little updating and the soft play area could have been cleaner. Also there is no where to eat at all if you go on a monday so take a picnic.

Thank you for posting your review. I take your point about the small kids tractors being a bit tired.
The Tractors have been well and truly hammered over the summer As usually do, we will be retiring the worst of them when we close, replacing them with new tractors in March next year ready for opening.
However I am glad that you seem to have enjoyed your visit and we look forward to welcoming you again should you be passing. Thank you

“Industrial heritage trail for adults”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

I can recommend the park for adults - not just families.
I walked through the park with 3 friends making our way past the old industrial buildings and delighting in how nature has taken over. Although it would appear that money is getting tight and that some of the maintenance is suffering, it also seems appropriate that the buildings have that appearance of having 'had their day'.
Some of the remnants of former engineering are truly impressive.
At the top of the park towards Holywell there is St. Winifred's well which is also worth a visit.

A very peaceful park and a lovely setting.

Thank you very much for your positive comment. Your point about money being tight is unfortunately right on the money. We are carrying out some work on the Greenfield Mills site with some grant funding kindly provided by Cadw. We do have further work to do with some improvments to be made on interpretation of the Heritage sites and will continue to seek funding for this. nevertheless we are glad you enjoyed your walk and hope you can find time to visit us again. Regards and happy walking.

“You should go if you have kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

Its ideal if you have a family, its interesting for the adults but not a must see. Our boy liked the maze and play area and there was a puppet show on. The entrance fee is below average for this kind of entertainment but the cafe a bit pricey.

We will be looking to make some changes to address the " lack of interesting things for adults" over the winter as well as some new activities for children. We hope to see you next year if not sooner. Thank you.

“Great afternoon out with ages 6-46”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

We were a party of eight aged from 6-46 and all found something to keep us happy. Younger members loved the playground and looking round the school.
The blacksmith demo was great and we stood talking to him for a long while and came away with a holder to hang a garden lamp on. The farming equipment made me think of my grandad and the work he used to do.
The Green Pea was a little expensive when you have a party of 8 but thank you very much for having a complete list of allergy advice it made a peanut allergy sufferer feel very safe.
The musical sensory garden was disappointing with only one instrument to play but the view of the water was lovely.

Thumbs up all round from us

Many thanks for your review. We are glad that you found us and enjoyed your visit. Reese, our Blacksmith is a diamond and we are very lucky to have him; he makes all you visitors feel so welcome. Your point about the sensory garden is well made and is on our list for development for next year.

We hope to see you again when you are passing.

Thank you.

“Excellent day out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

We were on Holiday in Prestatyn with our puppy and we were quite limited to the places we could visit (quite a few castles do not allow them on the grounds !!!). We found Greenfield and glad we did. It is a lovely site with the crumbled Abbey to see first and then we had lunch at the lovely Café and then into the site itself and it was a wonder to see and they had some good Eagle display on whilst we were there. Highly recommended
