We stayed here on a recommendation of a friend. The facility is borderline clean and as mentioned by other reviewers the rooms are narrow. Mattresses and pillows are shot. The room was extremely quiet. We had a 3rd floor suite which advertises a view of Mt. Rushmore. This is true that you can see the monument, but is far away and not really worth the extra cost of the room. Keystone in general is not where I'd stay again if I was visiting the area. Custer is just as accessible to Mt. Rushmore and other sights and is a much nicer place to stay in my opinion.

The service is outstanding. Yes, very small rooms however the rooms were clean. Not a resort but a motel. Not a 4-star hotel but 4-star service from the front desk staff. Malek made our stay most enjoyable. Malek & George provided fantastic service.

Very disappointing. Poor value for money. You are paying for a view of the Mount Rushmore (you need good eyesight) and most things are then very much do it yourself. No restaurant. The high spot was the staff. Good a recommendations where to eat. Sound advice on where not to eat in restaurants associated with the hotel. Very much a stop over hotel, definitely not a resort.

We stayed there and found the pool to very yellow with heavy clorine and the hot tub burned your eyes when you turned on the jets. The rooms were small as we needed to put furniture on the other bed to have room. When leaving the next day someone threw toilet paper and garbage out from the upper balcony onto everyones car below. We seen no concern from the staff when we had to step around this rubish to clean our windshields before leaving. Hours went by and no one attempted to clean it up. We understand bad apples can create havoc but not impressed with who cares management in dealing with it.

Rooms were decent size but mattresses fell off box springs, pillows flat, found remnants of crumbs under our fitted sheets when they unraveled while sleeping, and our room had an odor. In the evening, we tried to come to our room for a little downtime with the kids, but there weren't any child-appropriate channels either night. We enjoyed the pool, but the hot tub was colder than the pool. I realize we were paying for location, but over $100 a night is a total scam!

This hotel is absolutely disgusting! The entire hotel reeks of body odor and chlorine. The rooms are tiny. We booked online for $120, only to find out that we could have gotten 3 rooms for that price if we had just called! The pool water was yellow/green and looked and smelled as if it had been continuously urined in all day. Our "presidents view" consisted of a dirt pile 10 yards from our window where we had a great view of our fellow guest walking walking their dogs. This hotel is dated, and inconvenient compared to the locations of the other hotels in Keystone. The name "resort" is misleading...unless you add "last" to the resort, then it's spot on.

Ok, we could have done better if planned. We are on a trek west with 4 kids so needed to be flexible with dates. So, when we made it to Keystone, we did not have a room. Many places were booked, so honestly we were grateful to just have a room. With 2 beds & a pullout, we had space to sleep & the beds were clean. The microwave & fridge, not so much. No coffee maker which surprised me since even motels have that! For $195.00, I'd think they'd have that! Anyway, we did not complain so I have nothing negative to say about staff. There are balconies (we were on 3rd floor) & we had a nice view of the town. Probably would plan a little better next time.
