We ate at the Ruby House when we visited Keystone several years ago. This time we met a friend there for dinner. This was the first time we have visited during peak tourist season and we were very lucky to get a parking spot near the Ruby House. We had a very friendly waitress and our food was good if a little pricey. That is to be expected during tourist season. Despite the crowd we were served fairly quickly and we all enjoyed our choices.

You might have to fight the crowd to get a table, but no visit to Keystone is complete without a meal at Ruby House. Great food for the whole family, a really fun environment, and cocktail service from the adjoining Red Garter Saloon, all combine for a fantastic dining experience. Not to be missed.

My husband and I were starving after touring Mount Rushmore. We stopped here because it got good ratings and seemed to be up our alley. We were seated immediately, and were taken care of by a very attentive server. My husband and I both ordered the if fall burger, which was 1/3 lb, and the perfect size for lunch. Our entrees came quickly and were just what we expected. Atmosphere was quirky and old fashioned, but fit perfectly with the feel of the town. A little but expensive, but consistent with tourist traps. Would go back, and recommend to others.

We were shopping in Keystone, looking for something for lunch, and noticed this menu. It was right up our alley. The inside is quite a sight, love the decor and the layout. The menu was good and the prices were just right. We like to eat at local establishments and this was a good choice. I recommend it for others looking for a quick bite. I had the turkey/bacon club, husband had the pork tenderloin, daughter had spaghetti kids meal. We did not notice the spaghetti didn't come with a side so the expense for the mashed potatoes seemed a bit high, but I guess we'll read better next time!

The Ruby House looks like an overdone Old West house for soiled doves - no kidding! There are heavy velvet draperies, flocked wall coverings, and an adjoining saloon that has bustier/stocking-clad young women delivering drinks. It definitely delivers on the promise of taking you back in time with its Old West flavor. Even the hostesses are bedecked in layered long dresses reminiscent of the 1800's.

Unfortunately, the food is not very good. I got something relatively safe - grilled chicken with some kind of teriyaki sauce on top. But the sauce was thick, syrupy, and very obviously straight out of a can. The sides were lack-luster, too, with no seasoning. My husband got chicken alfredo, which was gummy and tasteless. The cooks are just that - cooks, not chefs. It was edible....kind of. We ate about half of our meals and left. It definitely is NOT the best food in the Keystone area. You're better off going to Powder House or even Subway. The Powder House is more expensive, but the food is MUCH better!

The staff was friendly, though the service was slow, especially considering how little time was spent preparing the food.
