This has the best Prime Rib ever and a great diversified menu. Any picky eaters is sure to find something here. They also have a great house salad dressing. Not to be missed. It is nearly impossible to have a bad meal here so says the locals. I think they might be right.

Normally I don't write reviews, but, I believe a review is warranted here this time. This review is only for the restaurant, not the lodge. Last year, around this same time frame, we had dinner here as well. All was exceptional, the wait time, the service, the food. Which is why we decided to dine here again. Well, unfortunately, our dining experience this time was not as pleasant. The time we waited was fine, the dinner was good if not for this issue where my young nephew stated he could eat no more, because he was tired of having to swat the flies, while having his dinner. The table in front of us had complained as well and was swatting them on the wall!! Disgusting! When we had mentioned this to the hostess, she stated they spray every 3 hours and rudely stated, they cannot control how many times the door opens. We've had dinner in other restaurants in the same area and have not had a problem. So, for this reason I write a review for the first time.

We enjoyed our buffalo prime rib meal and drinks. The menues are outdated so somethings that are on there were not available from the restaurant or bar. Staff were slow to respond and refill drinks but we had a good meal. Prices are higher - similar to a steak house restaurant or high end place. We had 2 drinks, meals on special, and no dessert. Bill was about $100. Biker friendly during sturgis week.

We are foodies from Manhattan and we were looking for a decent restaurant for lunch in the vicinity of Mount Rushmore. Online we found the Powder House Lodge Restaurant and due to its great online reviews decided to have lunch here – no regrets! The Lodge is very close to Mount Rushmore, just around the corner from all the touristy hustle and bustle in a quiet, idyllic spot up a hill. It’s a charming restaurant that offers great quality food and an amazing (to us surprisingly top) wine list which also includes local South Dakota wine (obviously not among the top wines in the world but it’s a nice touch for a local restaurant to include local wine as well, we New Yorkers definitely appreciated it). Service was great too, so in short, we had a lovely lunch at the Powder House Lodge Restaurant – highly recommended!
