“Great Little Restaurant”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

We stayed here and had dinner all five nights at the restaurant. They had just opened for the season. They have quite an extensive menu and are popular with locals. They also have an understanding of gluten and have a list of items which can be gluten free. We enjoyed the ambiance and the very friendly service from Matt and Toby. They have a full bar and a pretty good wine list. For an additional fee, you can upgrade your house salad - I loved the apple, walnut and Gorgonzola upgrade. The steaks were best. We highly recommend this. We had breakfast the last day and it wasn't very good so my recommend is for dinner. Doubt you can get anything better than dinner here without heading to Rapid City.

“Relaxing Dining Atmosphere”
Reviewed May 19, 2014

Best place to eat in Keystone. This was a very casual restaurant with an upscale menu. The restaurant opens at 4:00 pm for dinner each day. Reading other reviews we decided to order the prime rib since this is what they are famous for. It did not disappoint. I suggest ordering the 8oz portion as it was sufficient. If you are a favorite of rhubarb, I would suggest the cherry/rhubarb crisp which was very good.

“Don't miss it!!”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

This is our one "must visit" restaurant in the Black Hills area. The ambiance and food are both fabulous! Our family has been eating here for almost 50 years and are always thrilled with our meal. The prime rib is out of this world! We highly recommend visiting the Powder House.

“Great experience”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Found this place online while researching our visit to the Mt Rushmore area. Stopped for dinner on Sunday evening after a long day of driving and sightseeing and were happy to be seated at a nice corner table in the quiet front room. Atmosphere is comfortable lodge casual, service was polished and friendly, interesting varied menu. I had excellent fish but my husband's buffalo medallions (a chef's special of the day) were outstanding, melt in your mouth tender in a rich red wine sauce. I don't care much for wild game but wished I had ordered the buffalo. I can't remember now what I had for dessert, but it was good! Highly recommend Powder House if you're anywhere near Keystone.

“What a great place”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

Took the family here while on vacation. The whole wait staff was attentive to all our needs. Even if it was not there table, when they walked by they asked if everything was well, and helped our waitress re-fill our drinks. Then our food came, we all stuffed ourselves, and wanted more. This is a Gem of a place. Get here now!!!
