We beat the tourist rush and came to Spokane Creek in mid-May on our way to Denver. We enjoyed the quiet of this campground tucked away in a little valley.

Our family of 5 fit nicely in housekeeping Cabin 22. There were basic linens, pillows and blankets for each bed, and the bathroom in the cabin was a welcome convenience as we were traveling with a toddler. The kids loved the built-in bunks in their tiny room. There was enough cookware to get by, but you'd want to bring your own if staying for a while. The stove was tiny but we did not need it anyway. We enjoyed s'mores in our fire pit and were glad that they sold wood at the camp store. Kids got good use of the playground, creek, and big open field to run in by the mini-golf course.

Owners and campground staff were friendly and helpful, and the store had a fun selection of Black Hills T-shirts and souvenirs. We did not get to try the cafe as they were not yet open for the season, so we had to find supper in Keystone. All in all a great experience, and we'd probably stay there again.

Stayed two nights at Spokane Creek. Had a campsite for our pop up camper. The shower room was spacious enough and reasonably clean for a campground. Also had laundry available. The store and café were convenient. You can order cinnamon rolls for your family for morning breakfast, and they are enormous. Keystone is a bit of a drive, but it's a beautiful scenic drive. Outdoor pool is nice to have but the water was ice cold so only good if it gets really hot. When we return we will choose a cabin with shower and kitchenette - they are very reasonably priced compared to some area hotels.

Room Tip: Get a large cabin to have your own bathroom, rate is very reasonable.

We were a couple of guys from the south visiting the Keystone area for four nights. Daryll (the owner) was great. We arrived shortly prior to a thunderstorm was going to hit the area unbekownest to us. He told us what direction the weather typically comes from and suggested what direction to pitch our tents to better withstand the storms. We were given advanced notification when storms were approaching which was a great planning aide. Daryll also gave us several suggestions on local roads to ride which turned out to be very nice, he even provided us with some rags to clean our bikes. We also had a great time with the rest of the staff.I would highly recommend the location especially if your first time in the area. Be sure to get to know the staff and ask questions, it will improve your visit

We stayed in a cabin with a full bathroom and enjoyed every thing about it. Our family of 4 took a trip to Mount Rushmore and wanted to stay somewhere besides a typical hotel. We found Spokane Creek Cabins and our family had a blast. The owners are great and the breakfast at the cafe was terrific.

We arrived late at night, during a thunderstorm and they had the keys posted for us on the board. The cabin was pretty clean and comfortable. The wifi wasn't too good. In the morning, we were greeted by some wild turkeys and without the storm, we could see what a nice little place this is. Used the bathrooms once but they were nicely set up with many showers to use and laundry machines. We stayed there the last night it was open and it was kind of sad to see the "closed for season" sign. I would go back and stay if I am ever in the Keystone area again.
