I never been here before, and while waiting to pick up a load on Monday we decided to visit Mt. Rushmore especially since learning it was 1/2 hour away and semis sans trailers could also park. We went in the off season so the town of Keystone looked like a ghost town, everything was closed. Nevertheless, it thought it was cute and I imagined it crowded in the summer. There is no fee for the park per se, but there is parking fee of $11, and I really loved that it also serves as an annual pass, that way one can visit again and again, that was a nice surprise. It is definitely amazing and inspiring just to imagine what it took to make this monument happen. One can't fathom such ingenuity and such desire to honor history-changing presidents. The park is well kept, it's informative, and accessible. I really liked that it's clean and well maintained, and I never though I could enjoy it as much as I did.

It was an amazing iconic part of American history. When you look at this monument and you think that human hands created this monument, it is an astounding feeling. The city of Keystone is a fun place to explore. Lots of great shops, street vendors, etc. We have made 4 trips to the Black Hills and we always have a great time.

Mount Rushmore is a great historic place to see and take the kids. The sculpture is gorgeous and the lights at night are amazing! The presentations are very informative and the videos inside the gift shop culminate your history lesson.

The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a sculpture features the faces of four American presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, sculpted by Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln Borglum. The lighting program takes place at approximately 9 p.m. nightly (May-September) in the park's amphitheater. No entrance fee, but paid $11/car parking fee which entitles us unlimited entry to the memorial for the calendar year.
