We were a group of 4 friends and were delighted to spend a Saturday night there. The place is really cosy and Anne and Colin had everything prepared for us to enjoy our stay. When we got there, we found the fireplace ready to be just lit! Thanks a lot!
Anne was extremely helpful and easy going from start to finish. Everything was perfect at the cottage, we felt at home instantly and didn't need for anything all weekend.
We really appreciated the little touches such as the Welsh cakes and the hot water bottles, as well as the "big things" such as comfortable furniture and logs for the fire.
We would definitely stay again.
I stayed here for one night as I was hiking snowdonia y garn. It's was a fabulous day with snow on the summit. The cottage was the most perfect end to a perfect day. The log burner was amazing and the welcome gift was a massive bonus. The cottage had everything I needed and it was so clean. The owner was brilliant and was available to answer any questions I had with speedy replies. Definitely going back March and April and may. Perfect location for snowdonia. Thanks again.
The cottage of Bryn Awel is in the very center of Penmachno. The valley is surrounded by sheep covered hills. Across from the cottage is an old and historic church that is a UNESCO site. It was a cozy, well appointed place to land for the start of our Welsh tour. A cute kitchen with everything we needed, including a view out across the valley. Very comfortable beds with warm duvets. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips. Anne and Colin were wonderful hosts, helping with luggage and suggestions for places to eat and visit.
Stayed for a long weekend with my partner in July 2016... We both loved the cottage: traditional, clean and cosy (with a log burner!!), and the immediate surroundings: a small, quiet and picturesque village with plenty of places to walk and explore. We found plenty to keep us occupied: driving around the local areas, shopping in the nearby towns, visiting local attractions, climbing Snowdonia (the log fire was greatly appreciated following this!!) and simply relaxing in the cottage (a lovely place to be with all of the necessary facilities!). The owners were very welcoming and helpful too; providing plenty of information about the local area and replying to queries. Overall, a relaxing, scenic and enjoyable break from daily life!!!
We had a marvelous weeks break here the cottage is very tastefully decorated throughout ,roomy, clean ,quiet, very little traffic, Very near to the larger town of Betwsycoed ( about 4 miles) but you wouldn't know it you feel delightfully cut of from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.Penmachno has just the one pub, thats all you need.
Great walks and fabulous scenery ,we had the bonus of sunny weather too.
If you choose to stay here you will be very blessed to stay in such a cosy cottage in a beautiful part of the country.
We have stayed here several times over the past few years and always look forward to returning. It is truly therapeutic.
It is a charming cottage with all amenities. A real get away from it all place.
Anne and Colin live nearby and are always around if you need anything.
Thank you Anne and Colin for making our stay so enjoyable.
We look forward to returning soon,
Bernadette Christopher and Sutton xx
