over all our group of diners were extremely disappointed. The service was slow and the staff uninterested and preoccupied with mobile phones.
The food ranged from terrible to bearable.

will be passed by on the next journey.

We were a party of five, business associates, who arrived without reservation and more in hope than expectation of getting a table. As it turned out, the weather was glorious and we were able to sit in the garden, which was lovely, and a rare treat so far this year.

Two of our party had steaks, one had haggis, another had pate, and I had vegetarian fajitas. The fajitas were very good and the accompaniments seemed fresh and it well presented. All the other food looked good and all plates were cleared.

Service was good, the Spitfire Ale was in good order, and all-in-all we had a lovely lunch.

The service was excellent, we arrived early and our booked table was waiting for us and throughout our visit the staff were courteous and attentive.

Often you get small portions of excellent food or large portions of average food but, at the Mill Inn, you get large portions of excellent local produce food. On the day that you visit the Mill Inn, do not eat beforehand, because you will be mad, if you cannot finish your meal.

The atmosphere is a very relaxed upmarket pub/restaurant, with a fabulous buzz, without being intrusive.

The whole eating experience was best aspect of our visit. The only minor criticism might be that the lavatories, which were clean and tidy, lacked the wow factor of the bar/restaurant and could do with a makeover but that did not detract, one bit, from the excellent experience of a meal at the Mill Inn.

We visited The Mill on our way home from Islay as we have never been disappointed during previous visits.
As usual the service was excellent as was the food. The only complaint was that the sweets were too massive for us to finish them.
This has to be one of the best restaurants that I have had the pleasure of eating in.

Passed this gem of a eatery on our way from Edinburgh to London, around dinner time, and decided to give it a try. Clean, cozy and traditionally decorated, excellent service, and food beyond high expectation when used to top London restaurants. No doubt the emphasis is not only on local recipes but also produce. We had venison burger, burger, steak ale pie and haggis. Quite full and very satisfied we chose to share a Sticky Toffee pudding. Arguably some of the best food had in the UK. And the bill? £61, incl half pint beer, small bottle of white, 2 lemonade and 2 espresso (that came with large chunks of homemade fudge). Other guests seemed to be regulars with some passers by. Bank Holiday Monday and only 3 tables free.
Will recommend to all, and we are definitely very much looking forward to our next visit.
