Working in Comrie I chose to relax most evenings in the hotel bar being comfortable, wifi enabled and with particularly friendly eager staff.
The food was generally of a very high standard, and during busy periods the chef would close the kitchen to orders until he was satisfied that he could maintain the quality of food production having once cleared enough orders. This is the Highlands, and there are but 3 restaurants in the village and a chip shop.
Well behaved pets are permitted in the hotel public bar area which was great for me
The daily specials menu was very good reflecting fine fresh local produce with favourites such as lobster thermidor, wild venison, duck and other game dishes all prepared to a high standard.
Prices are what you expect in the Highlands, and The Royal delivers for what you are paying in my opinion. Average main dishes £15 with lighter dishes much less!
Atmosphere is relaxed with a mixture of locals and travellers alike.
