“Stayed for wedding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

My best friend was getting married at this venue and we stayed the night before the wedding and on the night of it too.
For any brides or grooms getting ready here the night before the big day, there was plenty of room to get prepared, bathroom was spacious and modern too. Beds were comfortable and clean rooms.
Price was reasonable and this included breakfast too which was a tasty selection.
Very good stay overall, wedding day was lovely too!

I am not a golfer myself but wanted a getaway in comfortable and tradition surroundings. And that's what Foxhills offers. Just 20 minutes from Heathrow it is a perfect weekend getaway. The spa, the bistro, the rooms and the general facilities are all there to make you feel a little luxury. But be aware that the rooms are in separate houses and not in the main mansion.

Spent a couple of snowy nights here on a girls' spa weekend and had a very enjoyable time of it. Staff are friendly and attentive, though clearly under pressure with a wedding and party taking place this particular weekend. Hotel and spa dealt well with cancellations and other issues thrown up by adverse weather conditions. Facilities are good, both indoor and out (plenty of tennis courts, golf courses, pools etc). The spa, however, though offering good range of treatments, has a tiny relaxation room and insufficient room around the pool to relax. This wouldn't matter so much if public areas in the main hotel are all made available but on our weekend, the bar/lounge was exclusively booked out to a wedding and lunch party (so worth enquiring about this when booking if you plan on spending time there) The two dining options, the more expensive formal dining room and the more relaxed Bar 19, offer good range and quality food, though breakfast didn't match the standard of dinner. Bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious and well stocked with good toiletries.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 44, which was lovely, but be aware that all rooms are located in the grounds rather t...

My husband and I recently visited Foxhills for the first time; it was absolutely lovely! I knew it was going to be the sort of place we’d like from our very first contact with their staff. I spoke to their reservations department with a lady called Vicky. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the whole resort, professional and really made me feel like she wanted us to have the best possible stay.

When we found the hotel (it is rather tucked away) and turned into their gates, we were bowled over by the approach to the Manor House. The driveway is relatively long and winding, possibly with too many speed-bumps, but it is beautifully lined with trees and it was quite exciting to wait and see what would be at the other end! On the way up you pass an ornamental pond and part of one of their golf courses too.

There was one couple and one family in front of us at check in but we only had to wait a couple of minutes. Reception seemed pleasant enough but I got the impression that the girls possibly weren’t the most experienced staff in the hotel. No complaints though. Our room was in Lynne House. These are the most modern rooms, very comfortable and very very spacious. The minibar was fully stocked and well presented, which you don’t always get these days. With the resort being out in Surrey the beauty of it is that space isn’t at such a premium. Our room looked over onto one of their golf courses. There’s nothing worse than staying in a teeny box room that reminds one of being a student again! None of that at Foxhills though.

We ate at the Manor Restaurant which is in the main Manor House. It’s just beautiful in there. It seemed like so much attention had been paid to the ornamentation, decoration and layout of the room. The food was excellent and we didn’t have to wait long for it; shame there’s no Sommelier but the wine advice we received from our waiter was good enough for our tastes anyway. After the fairly formal setting of the Manor Restaurant we went over to their more relaxed sports bar over the way. That was another good thing actually – different parts of the resort suit different moods and tastes.

It’s also worth mentioning the spa. After we’d popped into Guildford and Weybridge for a bit of shopping we wanted to unwind. I think the spa’s a quite recent addition to the hotel because it had that sparkle and gleam that new places do. I had a facial while my husband broiled himself in the sauna (not my cup of tea getting that hot but he loved it). All in all it was a fantastic stay.

Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and very nice, (lovely touches were the Elemis toiltetries and the miniature fresh milk in the fridge) (Room 69 in the seperate older block) Hotel best visited in better weather than snow as its cold in the bar (only 2 feeble gas fires to heat large rooms) and as the buildings are all seperate, you need your coat when going from bedroom to main bar/restaurant building and then again on to the spa etc which carrying around is a bit of a nuisance.
Warning... Be very careful when ordering wine off the extensive list, as we ordered Merlot from the first page thinking the dearer price was the bottle price only to be billed much more because this was actually the price for 500mls which was written in tiny, tiny print in faint brown colour at the top of one column, in the middle of the page, which we all missed. My question was why didnt they bring only the 500mls which we had pointed to and not the bottle??

Room Tip: in the winter try to be in the main building

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback regarding your recent stay with us at the Resort. I’m glad you were happy with the bedrooms and enjoyed the Elemis toiletries. Naturally, we are disappointed to hear about the confusion regarding the Wine Menu’s, please accept my sincere apologies; I will personally liaise with our Front of House team to ensure that this mistake is not made again. We hope to welcome you back to Foxhills in the near future, and trust you had a safe journey home.

We booked our engagement party at Foxhills and from the moment we booked it until we checked out of our room the next morning we had nothing but brilliant help from staff. The events co ordinator (Hayley) was fantastic and helped us with every little detail in the weeks leading up to the event. When we arrived we needed some help with lifting bags etc to our room and the porter was there within 5 minutes to help. On the night itself the bar staff were brilliant (especially Erica) They helped us decorate the summerhouse & if there was anything we needed they were more than happy to help. All our friends and family said how beautiful the venue was & the surroundings, plus how great and friendly the staff were. Finally, our room was beautiful, everything you'd want. The bathroom was huge and everything was spotless. All in all I would recommend Foxhills to anyone, it's beautiful and we certainly had an engagement party we will never forget. Thank you!

My partner and I had a fantastic 2 nights stay at Foxhills . The attention to detail and service was second to none . We enjoyed a very relaxing day in the spa and even had an icy dip in the invigorating plunge pool . This was sharply followed by a relaxing dip in the outdoor hot tub .
We are very much looking forward to returning and diving into the outdoor pool .
All this was followed with a hearty meal in bar 19 .
Well done Foxhills
