This was our first trip to Mt. Rainier after retiring to the Pacific Northwest. We chose Jasmer's due to good reviews on Trip Advisor and stayed in the Rainier Retreat Fireplace Room. This is a small cabin with a kitchenette and your own hot tub. The kitchenette and bed are in the same room, so it got a little cramped, but all in all we were very pleased with our stay. The cabin was very clean, with a good size bathroom that had a shower. There were plenty of towels for our use. It was great having the kitchenette as we could eat our breakfast and make our lunches to bring with us on our hikes. The owner was very helpful in giving us hiking tips. There is a nice porch that wraps around, but it was rainy, so we didn't stay outside too much. Even with the rain, Mt. Rainer is a spectacular national park, not to be missed. The greatest thing about the cabin is that it is away from everything, but still convenient to the park. It was wonderful to "get away from the busy world" and retreat to Rainier Retreat! There is free WIFI and a small flat screen TV with satellite TV and DVD player. The room has several windows to open, which allowed for the nice, cool evening air to sleep in. If it got cold, there was also a gas fireplace, but we did not use that. There is a nice restaurant close by, Copper Creek Restaurant, where we ate for two nights. Although the room was small, the owners have done a nice job with places to store things in nooks and crannies. We'll be back!

I recently spent 3 nights with Jasmer's in the Rainier Retreat (RR) cabin while hiking in Mt. Rainier National Park at the end of July.

The RR is located away from the main complex of Jasmer's rentals, which are located on State Highway 706 East (National Park Highway) in the town of Ashford. The RR is about 5 miles farther east on and a mile or 2 south of 706. It is located by itself in the Paradise Estates neighborhood of Ashford just off the scenic forest road to Packwood.

The RR cabin is comfortable for 1, and in a quiet area. I don't think I ever heard any neighbors or cars at night. It is a small 2-room cabin, the main room in front being the sleeping/kitchenette area.

This room contains a queen bed with full bed linens. It also has a gas fireplace, a small TV with about 20 limited local satellite channels, and VCR and DVD players. There is also a stereo CD player.

The kitchenette is along the front wall of the cabin and is well equipped with a microwave, toaster, small refrigerator, plates and cups, cooking dishes, and basic food prep and eating utensils. There is even a coffee grinder, coffee maker, and a supply of coffee beans.

The bathroom is in the back of the cabin and contains a typical lav top with sink, a toilet, and a very small shower stall. This room is furnished with bath linens and a hair dryer.

There is a large deck on the back side of the cabin that contains a hot tub, gas grill, patio set, none of which I used. There is also a campfire pit with wood provided.

The wireless DSL worked well inside the cabin. I did not try it outside.

The windows in the cabin all have screens and blinds, and open for ventilation. The main room also has a ceiling fan. It can get warm here in the summer.

The owners were helpful to me with local information both before and during my stay - Tanna with where to shop on the drive down from SeaTac, and Luke about the hiking trails.

This cabin worked well for me while in Ashford, but I would not have wanted to be in it with 2 people. It felt a bit small to me just by myself. I would not hesitate to stay at Jasmer's again, but next time I would probably opt for a larger unit in the main complex.

The five areas I rated individually - service, value, sleep quality, cleanliness and location - averaged out to a 3.8 overall, so I rate it a 4 (very good) out of the 5 available TripAdvisor ratings.

We stayed 2 nights in the Songbird. Cozy, comfortable, and yes, Luke and Tanna have thought of everything! Very accommodating, very kind, very helpful. We were taking a trip to Mt. St. Helens and on Luke's suggestion we took a different route and loved it! We used the granola bars and water they had waiting for us. It has the feel of a Bed and Breakfast.
If you're staying in the summer you probably won't need the fireplace turned on. Like most places in WA they don't have A/C the room would have been too hot. But either way, they had it all ready to go for us!

We were lucky to get Wildbird for 2 nights. Super clean. Super nice hosts. Luke and Tanna have thought of everything...from paper towels to welcoming trail bars! Wonderful bed. Roomy, and beautifully built with exquisite wood. We enjoyed returning from hikes on The Mountain each evening and felt very relaxed and at home. Fun to see the climbers next door get ready for their climb...as we enjoyed the grilled cheese and veggiebergers at their grill. A fun add to staying here! Definitely looking forward to returning:).

we booked the cabin based on the pictures and reviews in Trip Advisor.
Cabin was easy to find although shrubbery was overgrown.
Cabin was TINY. Had to struggle to find room for the suitcase. Wound up placing backpacks in sink. Bathroom was bigger than the bedroom.
There is NO maid service. Only one small pillow per person. Bed not very comfortable
Location to Mt. Rainier was great. Restaurants in this area are almost non-existent. Food so-so

Room Tip: spent the money and stay in the park

Dear Marlene,
Thank you for taking the time to write. Wish you could have done a little more research before booking. We promote our cabins as they are, each being very individual. Seems your husband may have booked this with out your approval. We feel Cozy, Cozy, Cozy spells it out pretty well. Staying 3 days I can't believe you did not find the extra pillows & blanket in the cabinet. We feel the privacy is the big reason guests book cabins, especially privately owned. If you had a need or question you could have picked up the phone in the cabin and called us. We are very attentive to our guests needs. In the future of a rural area, do not expect a Holiday Inn, expect genuine hospitality.

Booked Big Creek Cabin for 3 nights. Rate is high but we had a great time. The cabin itself has much privacy, is complete, clean with 2 bedrooms (small and normal Queen bed) and has all the luxury you wish. The garden is bushy and there is a restricted view on the creek. The porch is very nice and also visited by raccoons, birds and squirrels. One morning we even had 3 deer in the yard. The cabin is not located at the property of the owners, but a 5 minutes drive in a wooded area. There are more cabins and streets in this location, some old, some nice ones. Stayed here for visiting Mount Rainier NP. The entrance of the NP is just a few miles away. The owners are very nice and we had terrific topclass burgers and pizza at the base camp in the tiny village. Cabin was very clean at arrival exept for the coffee-maker. Recommended !

so i signed up to go to RMI last minute and was faced with a lack of a room. looked around and was finding it hard to get a place. i then wondered upon Jasmer's. I called. they were very friendly and extremely accommodating. they arranged a two bedroom cabin for me and made sure it was prepared. i arrived late but they stayed and waited for me.

i checked in and went to my cabin. compared to the hotel rooms at the Bunkhouse, my place was a castle. it even had a jacuzzi. unfortunately, i did not get to use it but at least i had it.

the three days went by fast and i had a chance to really relax and enjoy myself. i would recommend using this group because if nothing else they were friendly, courteous and caring. kudos.
