“Old Fashioned service”

THe food is great, the service is friendly, the prices reasonable and the place has a section where locals can sell their creative wares. The kitchen is clean and most meals are home made:-)

“Worth stopping for food”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

Small restaurant with a small shopping/souvenir shop attached. The breakfasts are great and well known in the area. For dinner they try and make it fancy and increase the prices to a point that seems slightly overpriced. They do make some self baked items and they really push their pies - if you buy a whole one they heat it up in the oven, if you buy a slice it goes into the microwave (which I think is slightly disappointing). Overall it seems like one of the better places to eat locally when visiting Mount Rainier.

“Blackberry Pie just outside of Mount Rainier State Park entrance”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

The pie was pretty awesome after a day of hiking along Rainier's flowing river beds. We enjoyed sitting outside in the waning sun and had a delightful time recollecting about the day. As we pulled up to the store, the aroma of fresh-baked cinnamon rolls was wafting out-of-doors and was mesmerizing. We bought a half-dozen to take home as as NorthCountryFemme mentioned in her review, they were pretty bad. No doubt we didn't get rolls that were fresh from the oven. These had to be at least a day old. We made our own frosting once we arrived home in order to enjoy them. This restaurant is definately worth the visit but don't bother with the cinnamon rolls.

“Should have continued driving.”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We never stayed at the Copper Creek Inn, but we did stop by for a bite after a day at Mount Rainier. I was not impressed. My first clue to a bad meal should have been when we walked in to the gift shop/restaurant and were greeted by a hello and then some awkward silence followed by the greeter asking the waitress (sitting at a counter) if she was going to help us to a table. She rolled her eyes, shuffled over our way and asked the other employee if he was cooking tonight. I should have ran out just then. The food was terrible. My chili tasted like moldy bread and the beef in it was very fatty and chewy. My husband ordered a burger. The patty resembled the thickness and appearance of what I would get at a fast food restaurant - NOT Hardees or the like, I'm talking McDonalds or Burger King. And it was overcooked. Mind you, this was an $11.00 burger - not an expensive burger, but I would expect much better for that price. If you're looking for a good place to eat, keep driving. There's surely something better down the road.

“Check your prices”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

The copper-top cinnamon rolls were $5.99 for half a dozen. We asked for 2 and we bought a few souvenir items with them.

We didn't look at our receipt until we'd driven away - our mistake. We were charged $5 for 2. If they were $2.50 each or $5.99 for 6, wouldn't it have been polite to have pointed out to us the 'single' price?

To add injury to insult: they were as dry as the morning paper. (day old?) Couldn't eat them and they ended up in the garbage.

Moral of the story: ask when the goods were baked and check your receipt. Maybe sample what you're buying before you drive away.

I know this is a highly rated eatery so our experience must be anomaly. They have great souvenir & gift items and the inside of the place is well-appointed and cheerful.
