This inn has a very personal touch to it. We were schedule to arrive very late and the front desk staff made sure we were able to get to our room and get settled. Their caring for our safe drive in at night was appreciated as we were told not to rush. Coffee in the morning and a quick breakfast allowed us to be first in line for Mt Rainer Park.

Room Tip: Our room was #12 with detached bathroom - fun setting

Stayed 4th July weekend due to a wedding in the area.
Chose this based on a meal we had there last October. The room (no.4) was large, old but had modern features in the bath etc. Super clean throughout the Inn.
They recently put in room a/c which was a life saver in 90+ degree temps.
The breakie had 3 or 4 menu choices plus a couple specials. More than a most B&B's.
Great location for the national park the day after the wedding.

We stopped into Alexander's to have a early Father's Day breakfast. (one day early). As a local, I never knew that dining wasn't open to the public for breakfast. Gladly the were willing to serve our group of 8. The hostess was friendly and attentive. The waitress was excellent. And the prices where great. The menu was limited, but the options where good. It was $9 and it included a drink! Which is a great price for up here. I only have one complaint. There was one employee, she had on what appeared to be pajamas and NO BRA!! She was a mess! She never entered the restaurant area, but she walked back and forth to the kitchen. My brother even said "I hope she is NOT cooking!" I was just shocked, that someone would present themselves at work this way. The cook even came out to see if we enjoyed ourselves, she was in her normal clothing, but not her pajamas! She was clean and polite and made it extra special. Overall, it was a great breakfast, the gift shop and pond are always great to visit. One suggestion, open up to locals for breakfast, I don't think you would regret it!

We appreciate your feedback! Best to you and yours! Our employees are expected to be dressed in a professional manner, we will make sure this does not happen again! We still have a complimentary breakfast for our guests and if it is not to busy we allow walk-ins, $10.00 per person. Best to you and yours!

We stayed in Forest House with low expectations due to some recent TA comments. However, I found the three bedroom house to be great. It was a 70's ranch but it was clean and comfortable. The house was well appointed for long stays and self catering. We stayed one night with the desire to be away from an adult child for a few nights of our 9 day trip across Washinton and BC. The house provided plenty of coffee, cream and sugar. We had a full breakfast at the Inn and dinner and both were very good.

We were looking for a good place to stay near Mt. Rainier National Park for two nights. We located this hotel on TripAdvisor, and booked. We weren't disappointed. It's a quaint country hotel - small, but provided everything we needed. There are a few things you would need to know about it first, though, so here goes....

What we liked:
1. VERY close to the park, so it was convenient.
2. VERY friendly and helpful staff. They were accommodating at every level, and even placed a large candy bar in our room (it was our anniversary). Also, they loaned me a pair of snow shoes to climb on the mountain, something I'd never done before.
3. The hotel was quiet and quaint. Our room was actually a room with a small, private living room adjacent to it.
4. The room was clean and provided a good night's sleep.
5. I'm not sure we even knew this when we booked, but the night includes a breakfast. And this is no ordinary breakfast! It was held in their restaurant downstairs. We enjoyed watching the birds at their feeders while we also enjoyed their fantastic, home-cooked style breakfast!
6. Free wifi.

Some things that a traveler might not like:
1. There is no TV in the room. If that's important to you, they do have one in a common living room.
2. There is no AC in the room. Now, I don't know how warm it gets here in the summer, so it might not be a problem. We were there in May, and it was quite pleasantly cool.

So glad you enjoyed your stay at Alexanders Lodge! We appreciate your feedback and look forward to you staying with us again in the future! We now have TV's in all rooms that have direct TV. And all rooms now have A/C, except the basement room #19. Best to you and yours!
