Description: The Plume of Feathers is a 17th century traditional Cornish coastal pub, offering hand pull beers and great food. On May 1st 2016 we opened our 5 en-suite B&B rooms above the Plume, the rooms are beautifully appointed and the convenience of being in the center of Portscatho is a great base to discover the Roseland. Colin & Paul Marriott, yes twins, you're not seeing double, took over the Plume from Graham Thomas in October 2013 after Grahams mighty 35 year reign and are indebted to him for his grace and support. His legacy of a friendly welcoming pub continues to be paramount.

“Go here every year but..........”

Let me say that the pub has always been a lovely place to go after a day at the beach and we have had many holidays in this area.Unfortunately this year our visit to the pub was ruined by one arrogant and rude male barstaff, never seen him before but whilst waiting to be served he carried in serving his mates leaving my partner and my young children standing like idiots whilst he carried on making it obvious he wasn't going to serve us in turn.Because of this we didnt go back all holiday and the landlord missed out on hundreds of pounds because of this.Sad really as it might change where we go next year.Hope no one else experiences this .

“Relaxing pub with good local ales”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

Portscatho is a small, quaint, upmarket village on the Roseland Peninsula and the Plume is its only pub.
It's not outstanding in terms of decor or food but it's not disappointing either.
The atmosphere is pretty good - mix of locals and holiday-makers and the service is friendly and efficient.
There are several benches outside to sit and drink and overall I'd say, like a previous reviewer, "it's an all-round decent pub".
If you're after very good food locally, I'd suggest The Watch Tower in St Mawes for fish and, if you can get a reservation, The Hidden Hut, on Porthcurnick Beach.
The local real ales, (try the St Austell "Tribute"), are very well kept and my wife said the wine is good too.
Worth a visit if you're in the area - and a good place for a few drinks and to chill out.

Very good value. Fish dishes especially. Book early as most of the tables had been reserved.

Our group of 14 made reservations for a delightful lunch along our coastal walk. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food and drink excellent.
