Nothing wrong with this little gem on the beach - but it is ultimately a missed opportunity.
We - 2 adults and a hungry 11-year-old - had arrived for a late breakfast, expecting bacon & eggs as a minimum offering. But there was little or nothing home-made and only average coffee.
Sitting at outdoor tables overlooking the beach, munching on pasties was pleasant enough, but breakfast was curtailed by ever-present wasps. These were not the fault of the Hidden Hut, but it only helped us to make our decision to leave early, and disappointed.

Lunch on a blustery day in October. The smell coming from inside was amazing. We had real fresh coffee and ham hock cheese and pickle focaccia sandwiches. Portscatho's finest.
Go there.

A real gem of a place, friendly staff and good food. Prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for, quality. We had the best pasties of our trip here.
Stunning situation, can't wait to return.

Like many people who saw Caroline Quentin's Cornwall series on TV, this was on our list of "must visits" and whilst there are many similar beach cafes in the county, this one will take some beating.

With a glorious view out to sea and pretty Porthcurnick beach, everything was a taste experience from the coffee and sausage roll mid morning before a gentle walk to Portscatho and then back for a paella and filled focaccia roll for lunch.

The pasties looked to die for an obviously were because they sold out even though there were lots of them!

The walk in the opposite direction was lovely and ended back at the Hut mid-afternoon with a large Roskilly's ice cream - surely the best in Cornwall - with only one size on offer!

This was August Bank Holiday Monday and there were queues from the moment we arrived around 11am until we left mid-afternoon, but no one seemed to wait overly long.

One really nice touch was when a little girl dropped her ice cream and before she'd even had chance to really realise what had happened and shed a tear, she was immediately told by chef Dan "Don't worry - I'll make you another one". A lovely touch...

No wonder this place is so popular and obviously a greatly deserved success for the family team behind it. Thanks Caroline for the tip off!

We've just discovered the Hidden Hut, had 'Sunday Soup' there on a walk along the coast to Portscatho. The soup was super :), served with delicious crusty homemade bread, lots of butter, an ample sufficiency. The Hidden Hut is obviously popular because even though you can only get to it on foot and it's not visible from anywhere except the sea, it was really busy and well frequented.
They also sell a lovely selection of original flavours of ice cream.
Altogether YUM. Oh, so long as you don't mind eating outside at solid hewn wooden tables, which I thought was great fun.
