“Outstanding food and service”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Our group of friends has dined at Guerriero's twice and had excellent food and service both times. The variety of dishes is perfect with an interesting selection of specials. The stuffed zucchini blossoms and seafood salad appetizers were rich and flavorful and not to be missed. Each of our entrees was unique and perfectly prepared. Our waiter had a great sense of humor and we enjoyed his balance of professionalism and sass. The owner of the restaurant circulates throughout the restaurant and chats with everyone and makes you feel at home. This is the perfect place to dine before a show at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, but make reservations a few weeks in advance as they book up quickly.

“Takeout let down at very steep price”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

We're genuinely confused by the positive reviews here. We were coming back from NYC late and so ordered takeout. Received, 3 poorly made pasta dishes, two (store bought?) desserts, and stale bread for $90. A truly disappointing meal. Specific examples include very bad (store bought?!!) tomato sauce, a shrimp dish with overcooked shrimp and unreduced, acidic wine sauce.

As a final blow, the free bread was stale and crusty.

“Family owned & run - good homestyle food”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

A short walk to the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Very crowded before any show - reservations are a must (no reservations for parties of 2). Had stuffedd mushrooms and broccoli rabe with sausage for appetizers - both were winners. Entrees - we were 2 for 3. Snapper Oregenata was fresh, light & tasty. Pasta with wild boar was execllent. The combo chicken on the bone with sausage was too oily (would not order again).

Will definitely return.

As we were leaving, the owner stopped us, introduced himself and asked how everything was. Very nice touch - he really cares

“Delish Italian spot in Motown”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Had no clue this place was here, but heard from a friend and had to check it out. Went on a Saturday at opening (5PM) without a reservation. Seated immediately. Gracious and friendly bus boys, waiters, and owner. Nice BYO option although we skipped it. Bread with garlic-infused oil was good as was bread with cannelini beans and red pepper pieces. Husband had the ravioli that we had heard about, which came with two meatballs and one piece of sausage. Delicious! I had the fusilli (home-made-YUM) with broccoli rabe and sausage. Also delicious. Brought home the Limincello cake for dessert. Husband liked it but I haven't tried my half yet.

Got parking right out front-metered till 8PM. Yes, it is a cash/check only establishment, however there are about 20 banks within a square mile of the place and supposedly an ATM there as well.

Would probably use reservations in the future as it was getting pretty full upon our leaving and we will definitely be back.

The owner is very hands-on and visits. Seems to be they all know everyone and the place is full of regulars, however, we were welcomed right in. NICE FIND!

Entrees were about $21 and $22, dessert about $7, and two sodas about $6.

The best Italian food every! They will later a dish to your liking and make something for you that is not on the menu.
The owner has a wonderful dry sense of humor and seems to know everyone that comes in there!
