My Sister In Law and have been to End of Elm a few times. The small tapas plates are delicious and are perfect for sharing. We also order a different drink ever time which are unique. The place is usually busy and the bar is crowded. Seating area can be a little loud at times, but is is the sound of success for End of Elm!

Didn't even realize this restaurant was in town but found it on Trip Advisor last Saturday, and visited that same evening. End of Elm is a wonderful casual spot that could lend itself to semi-special occasions equally as well.

Welcoming and modern, with a soothing, neutral color palette, the restaurant is separated into three sections -- 1) the bar. Well stocked, plenty of seating, and flanked with TVs for watching sports, news, etc; 2) the dining area. Houses a variety of table sizes (with large corner booths) to accommodate small or large groups, with enough space between tables so you don't feel packed in. There are also TVS in the dining area, but these were turned off during our visit -- they're probably there for BIG game days, when everyone wants to stay on top of the score; and 3) a comfortable sitting area with comfy chairs for relaxing - either while waiting for a table or with an after dinner drink/cup of coffee. We saw people eating in the sitting area, but I believe you'd need to balance your plate on your lap since there are no dining tables.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We were greeted warmly and seated as soon as we walked in by a lovely and professional hostess. Our waitress (a football fan) was personable, knowledgeable and, after asking some questions about our preferences, made excellent recommendations. She checked in on us during the course of our stay but was never overbearing or intrusive - perfect balance. The owner was on premise and came over to introduce himself. He also checked in later in the evening to make sure everything was still OK. There's nothing more inspiring than seeing the owner pitch in and take on the same tasks he asks his staff to handle - he cleared tables, carried drinks, and took care of guest requests without issue. He is clearly invested in ensuring his guests enjoy their evening.

Food was very good. It was a little tricky to determine from the menu which dishes were small plates and which were entrees (and indicator might help), but our waitress helped clarify. The sashimi tuna "pizza" was outstanding - probably the best of the dishes we ordered. (Get ready -- it messes with your mind because it really looks like little slices of pizza!). The gnocchi, a very close second best, was out of this world with a variety of fresh, fresh mushrooms that you'd think the chef hunted in the woods that morning. The mussels were also very good, though they're served with a pile of french fries on top, which was a little odd to us. They absorb the white wine broth and, though flavorful, acquire a bit of a soggy texture. And the Mahi Tacos were tasty but the portion was small for sharing.

All in all, though, a very decent meal, and a great evening. We are eager to go back, and to bring friends!

Love the small plates. Been there twice. The owner is always there and he actually helps out! Clears tables, etc. Fun to stop by even for just a drink. The atmosphere is nice and it looks so much better then when it was Hennesys!
