Friend and I wanted to visit here to see if we might want to put it for an adult singles group event (we do!). Easy to park right in front or across the street (free!). We were the only two people for the 1:15 tour. Basically, we saw 9 rooms. I especially enjoyed seeing some plates that were used during Lincoln's Presidency and also the Thomas Nast room with political cartoons and drawings. The great hearth in the old-fashioned kitchen and the beautiful gardens. This is a place to come back to many times! Great guide and happy to answer our questions ! We left the car there, walked to South Street 3 blocks away and ate at South Street Trattoria (very good) walked back, visited the Nast drawings again and that completed our lovely afternoon.

Visited Macculloch Hall on a Sunday afternoon & took a house tour which took less than an hour. Our docent was informative & knowledgeable of the history of the house & this time period. Beautiful furnishings, chandeliers & rooms that depict life in the 1800's. Morristown must have been something back in those days. Whether you live nearby or come from afar it is worth a visit back in time. So happy to see that this home/museum is so well maintained & preserved as well as other homes in Morristown. So much history here!

We went for the December Thomas Nast exhibit at Christmastime. It was cool seeing his actual drawings and paintings and read about his career. His actual house is right across the street. The house has mostly authentic pieces, including the "Three Sisters" chandeliers. The classroom downstairs had desks from the time period and even some doodles still carved in the wood.
If you can, go on the tour - it's worth it!!

There is a lot of gorgeous architecture in Morristown. Macculloch hall is a beautiful home and has been maintained with much of the original decor. There is a lot to look at and absorb. The docents have a huge amount of knowledge to share, and they do. It can be a bit overwhelming but definitely worth a visit.
