“National Historic Park”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Excellant national park. Provides great hiking trails. The Tempe Wick house on the property is worth going in, usually open on weekends in the winter. Docent is very knowledgable. They have a great garden behind the house and at the end of the season they sell the produce - a lot of herbs. Nice place for a picnic as well.

“Nice park where you can also learn something new!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Jockey Hollow is a big, pretty forest where you can talke a scenic walk (or drive) and also learn something about the life of a revolutionary war soldier. The trails and roads are easy to follow and very pretty. At the visitor center, you can see an informative 15-minute movie about the winter encampment of 1779. There is a preserved period farmhouse which is open only occasionally. If you want to see the interior, call to find out when it's open.

“Revolutionary War”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

Pleasant are to walk, and an interesting Historic site where George Washingon and the Continental Army took refuge during the American Revolutionary War.

As you walk, it makes one think of how lucky we are today with all our conveniences. They spent the winter in wood huts and NO CABLE!!
