Owner description: This is an active RNLI lifeboat station that is free to visit, but open to the public and donations can be made. From the large viewing gallery you can see a Tamar class lifeboat close too , unfortunately unless it is an open day ( about 2 a year) or lifeboat day ( 31st July 2016) you cannot get onboard .in the next few months we hope to improve the facilities and offer visitors an insight of the boat via pictures and videos.

Wasn't actually aware it was out there and open to the public until I walked to the end of the pier.
The boards with all the call outs are thought provoking, especially the ones from the war years.

Take a look at the lifeboat and read about it's history before arming yourself with a few home essentials.

Interesting history of the lifeboat service at Cromer. Good video about the launching of the boat too. Good to be able to see a lifeboat up close.

we spent about half hour walking around this lifeboat station, there are some lovely old pictures to look at. You can also watch a video that shows the boat launching. You really do not realise how large these boats are until you are this close to them. Very impressive and makes you extremely thankful to those brave men and women who risk their lives to save others. Well done RNLI...
