The Wellington Hotel
Ranked #16 of 26 Cromer B&B and Inns
Reviewed May 18, 2014

We went to Cromer to visit friends during the Easter school holiday. As most hotels were either fully booked or very expensive we were a little apprehensive about staying at a pub as we have two young children. We worried over nothing! The Wellington offers great value for money. The rooms are away from the main area of the pub so therefore you do not hear anything from downstairs. The rooms are just fabulous. They are super clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and everything you might need is catered for. The breakfast, that is included in the price, is amazing. The service received from the owners and staff is second to none. Everyone at The Wellington should be very proud of themselves. Thank you for a very happy stay.

Three of us stayed in the Wellington over the Easter weekend and loved every minute. Our rooms, a double and a twin, were spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. Breakfast each day was excellent, all the staff were really friendly and helpful. We were surprised how busy the pub was at all times with a great atmosphere and yet our rooms on the top floor were very quite and we weren't disturbed by any noise.
We also ate in the Courtyard Restaurant on Good Friday evening and enjoyed a delicious meal, good wine and great service,

Room Tip: The two top floor rooms were beautiful and very quiet but there were a lot of stairs which could be...

This is a great pub with lovely staff and owners. My husband and I went in thus pub A few times in September last year and when we went back in April the staff recognised us. The food is good and the beer is cheap!

Weekend break with friends staying in a cottage next door to the courtyard and ended up eating in there both nights. Can truefully say we have never had more friendly service and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced (incredible value at £104 for 6 starters, 6 mains and 3 rounds of drinks!) Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back when back in the area

Don't be put off when you see the busy, thriving pub or walk past the gents loos and up the steep staircase with it's tatty carpet - it was a really good stay!
We had rooms 1 and 2 they were very clean, large spacious rooms, with very comfortable beds, additional blankets, pillows and fan heaters etc. You can't hear the pub from the rooms.
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.
There is a good restaurant attached to the hotel where we had very good breakfasts and a good evening meal.
Free on street parking within 5 minutes walk - but you will have to time it well to get a space

We had a lovely stay in the Wellington over a weekend while my husband fitted stained glass windows to a local Cromer landmark. The situation, a minute from the seafront, was fabulous and at a terrific price per night of £50 (in March). Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the cheerful welcome extends from the owners through to the bar staff and breakfast chef. It's essentially a pub with accommodation but the bedrooms are in a separate 'wing' (so no noise issues) and are refurbished to a very high standard with bateau beds, plantation shutters and crisp linen. Nice touches like cafetieres in the room and organic local sausages at breakfast. (BTW The mechanical toilets mentioned in another review were no trouble: the noise is more low growl than 747, and lasts five seconds.)
