Managed to return to the de Paris Hotel after two years (couldn't get a room last year at the time we wanted). It has to be remembered that there are two types of guest at this hotel - those who have booked with Alfa/Liesureplex coach tours and those, like us, who book privately. There is no difference in the standard of service between the two groups. I was really glad to note that there have been improvements since our last visit: new carpets in our room and corridor areas, fruit juices freely available at breakfast and nicely browned sausages! (see my last review). I can only re-echo the many superlatives about this lovely hotel. Spotless cleanliness, friendly helpful staff, good food (not haute cuisine but generous and excellent value), the unrivalled position and sea views........I could go on. But for me it is the building itself which will bring me back. Such a feast of late Victorian architecture to enfold and delight all who relax in its beautiful spaces. So tragic that two other George Skipper hotel masterpieces in Cromer were demolished in the 1960s.
Well done Alfa/Liesurplex for keeping the Hotel de Paris alive and lovely!

Room Tip: A sea view room is well worth the small supplement - all floors are served by lift.

Alfa have a hotel and staff that is a credit to their organisation. The food is better than most 5*hotels we have stayed in.Spotlessly clean throughout,we had a sea view room and our friends stayed in a standard room which was as good as ours but without the view.Dave the Alfa driver knew everything about the Norfolk area.

Room Tip: sea view worth the extra, but in some rooms the windows will not open.

We have just had a coach holiday and our hotel was Hotel de Paris. This hotel is excellent, beautiful rooms, spotlessly clean, not only bedrooms but all public parts as well. The food was very good, with a selection of dishes, all well presented. The staff through out the hotel, from reception to cleaners were most obliging with ANYTHING you required. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We stayed at the hotel de Paris over the Christmas weekend, Dec 23rd -27th having booked with Alfa coach tours. The hotel is in a prime position on the sea front, facing the lovely old pier which had a variety show on in its theatre during our stay. The hotel is a tribute to the victorian era, when quality hotels abounded. The period features, including stained glass windows in the dining room and elswhere and a beautiful old staircase with a quirky reception area. we stayed in a large sea view room which overlooked the pier, with stunning views over the beaches and sea. The room was comfortable with nice furnishings and a good shower and bathroom. The restuarant which also doubled as the entertainment room was large and airy with sea views. The food was hot, plentiful and varied with more than enough choice. The staff were pleasant and very efficient, as were all the hotel staff including the manager. The hotel has a warm and cosy bar bar with nice seating and good choice of drinks. All in all a great hotel at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room for superb views.

This is a magical place. Its an eccentric architectural treasure designed by George Skipper (he also did Norwich's lovely Royal Arcade) who is known as Britain's equivalent of Barcelona's Gaudi. The Hotel de Paris should be posh, but its not and it's all the better for it. The Hotel has the faded feel of a London Gentlemen's club on Pall Mall minus the snobbery. You can sense the fun and thrill its coach-loads of visitors feel as they mill about its corridors waiting to eat. I've never stayed there. I use the bar, lobby and toilets and TV room. Moreover, I just love to stand in the dinning room admiring its windows and features. Of course, the Hotel De Paris needs more love and attention from its owners. The bar needs more beers and thought. But I believe that if they ever they tried too hard to improve it they'd risk ruining one of Cromer's best institutions.

Staff excellent, friendly, helpful, and you could have fun with them. The hotel is a listed building so had alot of character about it excellent. It is right on the sea front, and in front of the pier. Rooms clean, if you was not warm enough they would bring another heater for you, but we found them lovely and warm. Food well we was turning the food away we could not eat any more and it was cooked just right, Price again for what you got excellent for the money.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea front room it is not alot extra and of course it is better to look out on than the bac...
