“Excellent Good Value for Money”
Reviewed December 31, 2011

Staff excellent, friendly, helpful, and you could have fun with them. The hotel is a listed building so had alot of character about it excellent. It is right on the sea front, and in front of the pier. Rooms clean, if you was not warm enough they would bring another heater for you, but we found them lovely and warm. Food well we was turning the food away we could not eat any more and it was cooked just right, Price again for what you got excellent for the money.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea front room it is not alot extra and of course it is better to look out on than the bac...

What can you say about the Hotel de Paris? In every important way this hotel offers great value for money.

It is not luxurious, the decor is stuck in the 1960s, it is difficult to get to until you unlock the mysteries of Cromer's one-way system and pedestrian ways and you won't find haute cuisine. However, it is grand with spacious reception areas and corridors. The position on the sea front overlooking the pier is unrivalled. The hotel is warm, dry and clean. The staff are unfailingly helpful.

If you have money to burn, then find a boutique hotel to suit. If you want a great place to stay offering excellent value for money, look no futher than the Hotel de Paris

Room Tip: I stayed in a superior double room on the third floor overlooking the sea and pier. I could not ask...

Went on a coach trip for five days with Appleby's. Had a lovely time - visited many places including SAandringham and met some lovely people. The Hotel was clean, the food was ghood and the staff were very friendly. Our room was at the back of the hotel so not a very good view.
The only down side was seating for the evening entertainment. The dining chairs doubled up and began to feel quite uncomfortable after a few hours.
Otherwise an esxcellent break to set us up for the winter!

Room Tip: A room at the front of the hotel faces thesea.

My wife and I wanted a couple of nights away in Cromer and decided upon the Hotel De Paris.

The hotel itself couldn't have been better located; right on the sea front overlooking the pier and literally two minutes from Cromer's centre.
First impressions are of a grand old hotel. Sadly the interior does look a little tired, but there are still enough nice old features to make it interesting. There's lots of stained glass windows, plaster work and other period features.
Upon arrival the lady on reception was friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal booked for that night which we missed due to running late, but she happily swapped it to the following day without question.

The room wasn't inspiring in it's decor, but it was clean and a reasonable size. The shower was however wonderfully powerful and much better than the drab dribbles you get in many hotels.
Unfortunately we couldn't get a sea-view, so had to settle for a room at the back. Ours overlooked the King's Head pub and it's beer garden. On the Friday, it was fairly quiet, but on the Saturday there was a lot of shouting and noise which went onto around 1:00 in the morning. My wife slept through it, but it stopped me from getting to sleep.

Breakfast was tasty, with a choice of cereal, fruit a full English or a combination of all three. Plenty of toast was available and you could help yourself to apple or orange juice. The speed of service was excellent and the staff were very good; anything you asked for was provided. My only complaint was that the coffee on both days was as weak as dishwater.

On the second night we had the evening dinner. To be honest, this was the only real let-down of the stay. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't great. However that could just be me, as I heard people around me saying that the food was lovely. Again though, I should say the staff were extremely quick and efficient.

All in all though, I'd happily stay again; it was a nice relaxed hotel in a great sea-front position. Yes there were a few niggles, but to be honest, nothing that was too significant. The only changes I'd make are that I'd book earlier to secure a sea-view (hopefully away from the pub) and debate if I wanted to eat dinner there again.

Room Tip: Go for the sea-views if you want to avoid the Kings Head pub.

Just back from a long weekend coach trip to Cromer. Hotel was an old building which i prefer to these new build hotels, they have such character about them. It was very clean and the staff were just lovely, nothing was too much trouble, very friendly and polite, from Margaret on reception to Joanna our waitress, food was very good, but would say please supply more gravy with the meals, didn't like to have to keep asking (minor problem though) Bedroom was with a sea view, very nice. All in all really enjoyed the weekend and would certainly go again.

Just had a deightful week in the hotel. An old property but quaint.Staff very helpful and polite. Room a good size and well lit. A sea view from the side of the building. A clean room. Food good but was slightly let down by theuse of frozen food eg fish. Why in an area where fresh fish is landed localy. Service was prompt and polite. Food choice good but on a one week basis. If you stayed for two weeks the some food menu will be the same. The entertainment leaves a little to write home about. Mainly singers and keyboard players. On the whole I will be back. The staff were especialy good as I traveled with my husband and his guide dog.

Guess that the fact we had very decent weather (without the strong winds that we had been warned about!) certainly helped us to have an enjoyable break, but, added to that, we thought the hotel was good value for money and agree with so many other reviewers that it was well worthwhile paying a bit extra for a sea view room. Staff were friendly, meals were of a good standard - though we were not so sure about being allocated "set" meal times - ours were 8.00am Breakfast and 6.00pm Evening Meal. Evening entertainment seemed to go down well and the hotel is well situated for Cromer amenities - the walk from the hotel, via Happy Valley, to the lighthouse was a particular delight. Would certainly go back - providing we had a sea view room!
