“Red lion hotel Cromer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Fabulous hotel in wonderful location- right on the seafront at Cromer. We arrived on a freezing cold wet day to a warm friendly welcome. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a room with sea view, and after unpacking, decamped to the log fire in the bar for a light lunch.
Our room was exceptional, with a huge bathroom, comfy sofa, and terrace overlooking the sea. ( too cold to embrace the terrace, but we could imagine a summers afternoon with a bottle of Chardonnay....)
The room was warm and comfy, as was the bed.
We ate in the bar in the evening, and the food and service were faultless. Breakfast was amazing, with homemade jam and marmalade, homemade yoghurt, and cereal bars. The chef is to be highly recommended. The food alone would make us return to the Red Lion, never mind the traditional but comfortable accommodation.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room 7 overlooks the sea and is worth the premium.

My husband and i have just enjoyed a wonderful break with our dog in this outstanding hotel. From the moment we entered we knew that our stay would be good but it was better than that. We had booked a superior sea-view room and that is what we got, there was also a bed and two dog bowls ready for Marley our black lab. The room was spotless and had nice touches like the honesty basket and a cuddley lion on the bed. The bathroom was spacious with top quality towels, bathrobes and shampoo etc. We booked an evening meal in the lounge bar, the dog is not allowed in the main restaurant room which i completley agree with. The food was wonderful i can recommed the sea food chowder to start and also the fish platter as a main and the staff were delightful, a real credit to the hotel management. The bed has to be one of the best quality beds we have ever slept in and had a great nights sleep with no noise disturbance. Then we get to breakfast which can only be discribed as EXCEPTIONAL, wow there is everything you could possibly want or need. We will definatley be coming back to stay here again and would recommend it to everyone, it is one of our greatest finds.

Stayed just for one night in this very nice hotel in the small resort of Cromer in Norfolk. Well placed for both the beach and the town.
Had a really nice room with one of the biggest and best bathrooms I have seen, the bedroom had a balcony overlooking the beach/sea and the you could admire the seaview whilst having your bath...very nice. Food was very good and seemed to be sourced locally. Would need to book well in advance in the season for both dinner and food.
If just in for a drink the bar has a great mix of tourists and locals, well worth trying the range of local Real Ales.

Room Tip: The best room is number 7 (the suite), if you can book it in plenty of time..

I only stayed one night but found this hotel excellent. The rooms were very nicely decorated and clean with comfortable beds and even a mini bar in a basket! The hotel was quiet at night. Great food and very friendly staff. Highly recomended.

This was a special offer - three nights for the price of two & it was superb. A freezing cold outside was more than compensated by the warmth within. The service was outstanding from every member of staff who all went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Food was varied, reasonably priced and varied. Breakfast was superb. A fantastic location with wonderful views.

We sre regulars to North Norfolk and The Red Lion ticks all the boxes. From the moment you arrive you are treated in a personable professional manner as if you were a local. The rooms are clean with great fittings, the beds comfortable and the views great. The bar has cosy log fires, great sea views and a wonderful menu whether it be for Lunch, dinner or breakfast.

Room Tip: The sea viewrooms such as 7 & 8 are great and a smaller double on the top floor which is 15 is a...
