Babadan apart (Not the hotel) was very good. our apartment was cleaned every other day (Plus fresh towels) & the facilities within the grounds were kept tidy with the sunbeds evicted at 8 pm every night so no towels were allowed residential status for the 2 week duration! pressure was implied to try keep you eating in the attached restaurant, but no obligation was pushed. All purchases on the grounds can only be made by means of a "Babadan card" which is simple, 100% refundalble, charge free & actually convinient considering kids & swimming pools! Air con was £4/day, 2 pc's in the bar were 2.50 lira for 30 mins (no printers) internet. For anyone who hasn't been Turkey before we foun that the £ was welcomed in most transactions & a favourable rate was given in most small supermarkets (£1 = 2.34 Lira during our stay), no commission, no charges. This means you just have to keep an eye on if your being charged £ or Lira. Babadan exchanged at 2.25 Lira for cash, purchases or card top-up. We found the little supermarket directly opposite more reasonable & convienent to change money. Babadan shop itself proclaims to be competitive & for the most part is quite justified. Large efes beer 4.50 Lira, Malibu & coke 8 Lira, Pizza 9 Lira, chips 4Lira, basically it was a fair price for food & drink compared to the surrounding cafes. room was basic. Fridge, kettle, toaster, 2 ring hob, fully equipped with knives & plastic bowls & plates. (No washing-up liquid, tea-towels, dish cloths). 2 single beds in bedroom , 1 double sofa bed in main room plus a fold out chair if required. Only 1 wardrobe & electricity is cut to everything but the fridge when you take key out of holder in wall. It a long way of saying we'll go again, was clean, enjoyed it & awaiting lottery win to afford any better accomodation!

Stayed at the Babadan with two friends and had a wicked time. We requested a high floor and quiet room (not near the pool) and even though we only booked a week before we went, they still managed to meet our requirements.
The staff are really friendly and helpful (except for one guy - not sure what his name was but he never smiled and just seemed to nag us about not eating in the restuarant in the evenings, so we just avoided him!).
We spent most of our time sat by the 2nd pool and bought all our food and drinks from the pool bar throughout the day - really cheap and tasty!
The beds were a bit bumpy and we had to move the 3rd bed into the bedroom so we all had air con (£4 a day) during the night. Other than that they were fine, really spacious and we got a good nights sleep. The cockerel and call to prayers were not a problem at all and didn't wake us once.
The whole complex is super clean - not even dead bugs in the pool!
The apartments are a short walk from the beach and bars/restaurants are two seconds away. We ate out every night and had a fantastic meal everytime.
Overall, had a fantastic time here and would recommend the Babadan Apartments.

Went to Babadan for last 2 weeks of July 2010 with my wife and three young children.
The Babadan complex is clean, well laid out and a very pleasant place to spend your holiday. The rooms are clean and have all the basic facilities you would need, they are cleaned daily and linen is changed every two days.
There are two childrens pools, the first is next to the main pool (between shop & bar) and is about 2 foot deep. The second pool is next to the other large pool (round the back of the bar), this is only 40cm deep and has octopus slides and water falls.
Thomson run a kids club which is very popular with kids and parents, some sessions have to paid for but only cost £5 or 13TLR.
The Babadan shop is reasonably priced but the supermarket nearby is cheaper and has a better range, dont use the supermarket across the road as they try to rip off tourists, turn left out of the apartments and take either the first or second right to get there.
Pizza Tomato take-away restaurant across the road is very good and reasonably priced.
When exploring the town go in all directions and you will always find more restaurants and shops.
The shops all sell very similar stock so its worth shopping around and haggling , Sterling gives you more buying power as exchange rates are better in Turkey than in the UK.
If you have TLR 200 (£88) per day you will be very comfortable but we had days spending less than TLR 100.
The Beach is nice if you can see it past people and sunbeds.
The health service is good should your child get an ear infection !!!

Would definitely return but not in HOT July.

I have only just returned from 2 weeks at the babadan apartments and had a great time. There is 2 pools and 2 children pools. Accommodation is a great standard and they are very spacious. The babadan is just 2 seconds away from the main area. Great position. The staff at the babadan apartments are so kind and are brilliant with the children. The restaurant is so cheap and the food is lovely. Overall I had an amazing holiday. The manager of the hotel is british and the only comment I could say she makes no effort to talk with the clients of the hotel. This is spoke about through all clients. The staff are what makes this hotel so special. Thank you babadan.

This was our first trip to Icmeler. What a great place to stay. Apartments were very clean and the staff could not do enough for you. They really made the children welcome and knew exactly which room we were in after just 2 days. The receptionist was also very helpful. The cockeral was a pain to start with but half way through our holiday he seemed to have moved away? The walls in the apartments are very thin and unfortunately we seemed to have the noisest family using 3 of the other apartments around us, and they had no thought for the other people around them so it was a little noisy at times. All in all I would certainly go back to the Babadan very clean and friendly staff and situated not far from the beach but not too near all the bars.

We went on a girls only family hol, me, my daughter (she had her 11th bday here) my mum, my sister , my sister in law & my auntie !! My family have stayed in many apartments in Iclmeler over the last 12 years, so the expectation of the Babadan was high, as it had been a little on the expensive side compared to others, but taking in to account the school hols & the fact we had a child to keep happy in the daytime we felt it would be a good choice. We were not disappointed at all! The apartments are really nice, clean & a good size, with all the bits & bobs you d need during your stay.Nice size balcony overlooking the pool & bar area was a plus too. The staff here are a great laugh, and cant do enough for you, we really wished we were there more than a week to honest.
The other reviews are correct in saying there is a local cockrel, but its not so bad, and yes twice a day there is call to prayer, which happens all over Turkey & to be honest I find it quite a pleasant sound.
Its about a 10 minute walk into the main stretch by the canal, where there are loads of great restaurants, particularly 'THE VENICE' where we have eaten for the last 12 years, great food and great entertainment. Most of the places by the canal will arrange a lift home for you at the end of the night, basically as a thank you for spending your evening in their place.
Great all rounder, good for families & couples a like !!

Stayed at the Babadan Appts from 17 - 31 July 2010 . Endured the 2 hour coach journey albeit broken up by a pleasant stop on the way . First impressions were quite good and we were helped with our cases to the room (56) . Unfortunately , the appartment itself did not create such a good impression . The rooms are very small and whilst they are clean and well appointed , it was lucky there was just the two of us staying as there would simply be insufficient room if there had been any more of us . Anyway , as we arrived and enjoyed the beautiful vista of the mountains , I looked down and saw a few hens and a cockerel . My wife said that cockerel will be trouble and , sure enough , at four o`clock Charlie started calling out to his mates down the valley . This then woke the dog next door who joined in and this cacophony of noise continued on and off for some time . At one point , around 6 , we had the full whammy of cockerel , dog and call to prayers at the local mosque . After a couple of days , Charlie lost his voice (not sure whether he had been got at) but he did his best to call to his mates anyway . Having said all that , we did really have a good holiday and despite his best efforts Charlie did not really ruin our enjoyment of a fantastic resort . There are plenty of recommendations on the site of places to eat and drink but you would be really unlucky to find anywhere where the food or service were not first class . For those who like a drink , beer was 4TL and cocktails were 7TL . Meals generally cost 50-60TL for 2 course for 2 people including a couple of drinks and were uniformally excellent . The dolmus service to Marmaris is fantastic value at 2TL . We could always get a sunbed but suspect this might be a problem later in the season . Icmeler is fantastic ; Babadan Appts only ok I am afraid .
