Just returned from the Golmar Beach a few days ago, this is our 10th visit to the Golmar Beach and it just gets better every time.

The hotel is in the best position on Icmeler beach, you have the best of both worlds here - a lovely pool with slides and the beach just across the walkway - what more could you ask for. You get the sun from early morning till late evening both at the pool area and beach.

The rooms are normal size, nothing fancy just nice, clean basic room. There is a TV, fridge and telephone in every room.

There is also a hairdressers in the hotel and he is very good (as well as handsome!), doesn't speak a lot of English but he does try and he's very nice and courteous. Have never been disappointed with any of the treatments on offer here.

This year there is an ice cream stall on the beachfront walkway, the young man who runs it is a real character, a right cheeky chappy, he loves teasing the children and chases them around, good for business I suppose.

The main resort is probably just over 5 minutes walk away but there are supermarkets and bars within a couple of minutes walk of the hotel.

Staff are happy, polite and so thoughtful of your enjoyment on holiday, they can't do enough for you as can be read in other reviews. The hotel is kept very clean, towels changed every day and sheets changed a few times during our 2 weeks.

Food prices in the hotel are much the same as in resort and infact sometimes cheaper. B&B customers can also purchase an evening meal in the hotel for £5, you can't get much cheaper than that.

The hotel could perhaps do with a little spruce up but it is kept clean. It is not a 5 star hotel, it is 3 star and thats exactly what you get for your money.

We are going back in September and can't wait to see Kerim, Ali, Ali, Kadir and all the happy, smiling staff there.

Golmar Beach has numerous return guests, we meet people year on year so they can't all be wrong. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Arrived at hotel at about 3am, and were in room within 10 mins. Given room 204 and when we went in room we were hit with this horrible smell but as we were tired after journey decided to sort things out in morning, When we awoke the smell was still there and the room was still hot as aircon was not blowing cold air. Complained to manager Kerim who called out engineer, when he came he said everything normal. We were not happy as he didn't seem interested when we tried to explain it wasn't blowing cold air. went to see kerim again to ask to change room, he said had to see rep first. Medhotels rep Hasan came to room and when we asked him if he could smell the horrible odour and if he felt the aircon was still blowing warm air, he wouldn't answer and would talk about something else. I again complained to Kerim who said we could change rooms but not until after midday. we were given room 222 which was much better with no smell and aircon blowing cold air. The room itself was ok with a good pool/sea view, clean and had a regular maid service. The best thing about the hotel is its location, right on the beach front at the end of the prom. Next best was the pool (which is a salt water pool) which had 2 slides and was a reasonable size. Unfortunately everything else is either average or poor. The hotel has about 170 room which means over 300 people could stay there but only had about 70 sunbeds. so you had to get up early to get a bed otherwise you had no chance. for such a big hotel there was no monitoring of the pool area and the kids could do whatever they wanted, especially on the slides. The whole staff where miserable and didn't seem interested in what you wanted, I think probably because we complained on the first day. Not one member of staff asked how we were or anything and they appeared to have lost the ability to smile. we've been to Turkey 6 times now and on all previous trips to other hotels, the staff would always walk round, ask if you were ok or needed a drink or generally just have a little chat/laugh. The management should go out in to the town because they could learn a thing or 3 about customer service. Every time we go to Icmeler it never ceases to amaze us with their levels of customer care. These young lads would be working about 12 hours a day, 7 days a week but every day they would be smiling and would do anything to make you happy, from simple thing like cleaning your table to re-arringing furniture to accomodate a large party.Be warned you have to pay extra for everything in the hotel, aircon, safe, the fridge! and even charged me to ring the transfer company to confirm pick up times. the breakfast was typically Turkish. The evening meals were OK but not much of a choice of hot food. Drinks when having evening meal where expensive too. Would not recommend this hotel unless you were only interested in having somewhere to sleep at night

Like most of you reading this we worried for weeks on where to book and to try and get a decent deal. We need not have worried and I would go back and recomend it for the following reasons;
Location: The hotel sits on the edge on Icmeler, it has its own quiet beach with free sunbeds. Go out main front entrance and its only 2 minutes walk from closest market and start of busy street full of pubs and restruants all the way into main town centre approx 10 min slow walk. Go out rear entrance passed their own pool and you are on the beach walkway meters from the boat taxi and a cracking beach setting, turn left and you follow a beach path with all sorts of hotels, restruants and bars etc that is an alternative route into town and would take you all the way to Marmaris (which took me approx 20 min to jog to one morning).
Hotel Accom: Perfectly adaquate, clean towels and beds made etc every day, lovely beach view, TV and on suit etc. We paid 84Lira for two weeks use of air conditioning and the room fridge which was well worth it.
Hotel Amenities: It has its own Turkish bath, gym, hair dresser (Ali who gives an excellant hair cut and shave), photographer, bar, restruant etc. We only ate breakfast which had enough to keep you going incl boiled eggs, toast although it leans towards continental style and is the same every day.
Hotel evening entertainment: Very little, which was good as we could get to sleep on our sober nights without the thump of the rest of the town. Note the whole area turns down the volume at midnight.
Dislikes: Almost every pub and shop try to stop and coax you into their establishment and dont always take no for an answer first time. When shopping most hang over you and it can get annoying, but its just their way. We went ito Marmaris, I thought it was rubbish (to busy, to much hussle bussle and no where near as nice local bar staff).
Recomendations: Turkey is not cheap as you think, do not accept the price tag and haggle, haggle every time. Best meals we had was in the Waterfall and Titanic. Best friendly staff for quiet lunch and nice calm atmosphere was in Pig and Whistle (Rudolph and Ali)
Summary: We had a brilliant 2 weeks and was sad to leave having done a lot, we loved the Golmar and I suggest you give it a try.

The hotel is in a great location and most rooms have stunning views of the bay. The hotel is in a quieter part of town, so you won't be kept awake by karoke singers or the cheesy party songs that many of the bars and restaurants have on a continuous loop.

The rooms are clean, but basic. The aircon was efficient enough to keep the room cool enough for sleeping, but you do have to pay £4 per night for it.

If you stay here, on your first day you will get approached/pounced on by the massage man trying to sell the Turkish bath package at the hotel. Take a tour of the spa before agreeing, because the area is rather dated and doesn't look very relaxing.

The pool is very family orientated, what with the two slides on offer, but if you want a quieter, lazy day in the sun, there are much better options available. The Liberty restaurant next to the hotel has a jetty where they put sun loungers out during the day.

The best thing about the hotel is that it is in a perfect location in order to escape the Full English Breakfast and smoking Sun readers on the beach scene. This is because the water taxi stop is really close and for just 15 Lira you can get a return trip to Amos. Amos is a little oasis and with only one restaurant and no beach boy hassle it is in complete contrast to Icmeler.

All in all, I would not return here because articficial resorts are not really my thing, but the hotel served its purpose well for those who like to be surrounded by English package holiday makers.

We have just returned from a week at the Golmar Beach Hotel and although the hotel is basic it is good for a 3*. Most of the staff are friendly especially the ice cream boy who always had a smile & a joke with us. We did not use the pool as unless you are prepared to get up at six every morning you cannot get a sunbed and sometimes towels were left most of the morning until the owners decided to use the bed - very selfish !! The beach area is very clean and plenty of beds available. The rooms could definately do with an update but the maid service was excellent. The location is great at one end of the bay and the views across Icmeler absolutely stunning. This is our second visit to Icmeler and we will definately return again in the future. There has been an increase in the number of 'Boom Boom' bars since our last visit but if you want to find somewhere a little quiter, try the Magic Garden, lovely bar but not easy to find. There are a few bars close to the hotel and i would definately recommend that you see the Stella show (Adult). Very entertaining and good for a laugh !!

Golmar - really clean, staff friendly especially icecream boy. Hotel photographer great - gave us home some brilliant photos of our stay. Rooms clean and tidy and sheets and towels changed regularly. Food good - plenty of variety. Quiet at night. Views of bay oustanding. Recommend for young families as I there with 8 yr old and 1 1/2 yr old. Can't wait to go back!
