I have been going to the golmar beach hotel for 9 years now and this year will be my 10th and not last. You could not find more friendly or helpful staff anywere if you tried. Ahmed is an amazing wiater and can not do enough for you. the bar staff, beauty therapist, hairdresser, photographer (his pictures are amazing), receptionists and even cleaning staff couldnt make you feel more welcome! they are so friendly and are genuinely happy to help you. although the rooms are basic and a bit dated they are perfectly acceptable, they are cleaned every day, fresh towels every day and the make cute shapes like swans out of the bed sheets haha. A few people have mentioned the small farm at the back of the hotel, the noise is not a problem, the dogs bark occasionally in the day time and yes the cokrell is loud but not untill about 8 or 9am and who wants to sleep in all day on holiday anyway. The location is really good as it is right on the beach, really nice restaurants and bars on your door step but it is really quiet in the hotel room at night. The view from every room in the hotel is looking out onto the sea and it is absolutely amazing to get up out of bed and look at the view. There is a jetty 2 minutes across the beach where you can book all the watersports such as jet skiis, speed boats, banana boats (if you use him for all your watersports he usually gives you a free go on the banana boat or rings at the end of your trip). i would highly reccommend the air con....you will need it and it is not expensive, i would also reccommend the fridge and safety deposit box as these are also cheap. i dont really eat at the hotel of a night as i am 19 and like to go out with friends but the food is quite nice, not much choice though. It is cheap to eat out in icmeler though and i would highly reccommend the mandalin in the center, the love boat in the center or the deniz kapizi kareoke bar next to the hotel. I eat in the hotel through the day as the food is made fast and it is very nice and doesnt cost much. The breakfast is a basic turkish breakfast but you can find lost of nice full english breakfasts for cheap very close by. the hotel boat trip is a good day out but you can also book other trips right by the kareoke bar, they are excellent, some are all inclusive and cost about £10 - £12 per person, really good value. Overall i enjoy every holiday i have here and will probably be coming here for the next 9 yrs!!! xx

Stayed at this hotel in september, after originally booking efes inn and being changed. Very glad to have this hotel, got to the room (though not too pleased at 5th floor...but i don't like lifts so it was a bit of exercise lol) We had a beautiful sea view room (though i think all the rooms do) 2 minute walk to deniz kapisi karaoke bar, where we spent most of our time so it was nice and handy. Breakfast to be honest wasn't up to much, wasps flying about the food. Although cats don't bother me, there were a lot round about the restaurant. Location of the hotel is nice, not too far from resort centre but not got any noise surrounding it. Well, except for a collection of farm animals behind our room, dogs, cockrels, chickens, goats, cows, there was a bit of noise from that though, and occasionally the smell was apparent as well. Rooms inside were reasonable, bit small but it did for us. Lots of english tv channels. Bathroom was a decent size and the maids were very friendly. Air con was £4per day, and safes available but we never took this,

I would stay here again! Though perhaps request a low floor!

xx

Travelled to the Golmar Beach in Oct 2008 and had quick and easy check-in. Fantastic views from the room (415) and size of room ample for 2 people with loads of wardrobe space. Hotel looks a bit tired and in need of a face lift but cleaners were brilliant and we had clean towels every day which was a surprise. Even had towels on our beds made into fans and swans.

One of the negatives was the little small-holding at the side of the hotel. For three nights we were kept awake by the constant barking of their dogs and when they finally shut up the cockrel started. After complaining constantly to Reception we think they then kept the dog inside as the noise reduced - no such luck with the cockrel so we just had to see the funny side of it. Not very helpful though as we went for a relaxing, chill out week to recharge our batteries. When we finally got some sleep some of our kind neighbours decided to have a two day row and the walls were thin enough to hear everything - still no sleep but this wasn't the fault of the hotel!

One other thing that wasn't so good was where the hotel had been built. This was in the side of the mountain so the sun never actually warmed the pool and on the hotel's little stretch of beach you were chasing the sun after 2pm.

Had a brilliant day out on the hotel's boat - full day cruising with swimming stops and a great barbecue for lunch. Then stopped at Turunc for shopping on the way home for an hour. Fantastic value for £10 each.

Loved Icmeler but found some much better placed hotels in the centre of the resort so wouldn't stop at this hotel again through choice, however, if this was the only hotel available and at a good price I would go again so the negatives were not enough to put me off totally!

just returned from a totally relaxing hassle free stay at the Golmar. The view from the room[218] was lovely.next time will request a room on level 5 as that view is fantastic.
You could be as lazy a you want at the golmar-beach service, pool service, bar service all provided food and drinks by the most pleasant staff. We really had to push ourselves to go for a walk.!!
Breakfast was typically turkish boring but sufficient.Does anybody really have a full english breakfast every day!!The evening buffet available for £5 pounds the first week then £7.50 the second week was really good value.
Although we didnt go on the hotels boat trip all that did said it was brilliant.
We used the barbers/hairdresser and pedicure which was good.
The reception staff were always pleasant and helpfull.
We met lots of people that return to the golmar year after year.this is the first time i have writtn a review so compelled because of the wonderful time we had at the golmar. Most definately will go back.

My partner and I have recently returned from a 10 day stay at Golmar Beach.

Let's get the basics out of the way first. Yes, you do have to pay for the air-con, and yes, it is necessary. You do not have to pay up front, as we settled the bill at the end of our stay. It is a cost of £4 per day (note pound, not lira) However, we did not choose to pay for the fridge as we heard that it does not get very cold anyway, and we coped fine without it. We also decided against the extra cost of the safety deposit box - instead we put our valuables in a suitcase and kept it locked every day, keeping the key on us.

Our double room was very small and basic. Once our suitcases were down, there was not much room to move around. The bathroom was small, with a walk in shower. Whilst on the subject of the bathroom, I should mention that if you have never visited Turkey before you might not be aware of the plumbing situation. Turkey will never win any prizes for its plumbing! You cannot and must not flush toilet paper down the toilet. There is a small bin provided next to the toilet for you to put your paper in. This may sound unpleasant at first, but you do get used to it, and don't worry, the bin is changed every single day. Although the size of the room was a slight disapointment, it was clean and serviced every day. One day the maid even left us some fresh flowers!

We stayed from Aug 29th - Sep 8th and this was ideal as we never once had a problem getting a sun lounger by the pool, and the pool was never crowded. Infact, there was even one or two times when we had the pool to ourselves. The service from the hotel cannot be faulted. Whilst sunbathing, Ahmet or one of the other boys would come round every so often asking if we would like anything to drink, or if we would like to see the food menu. You do not have to move from your lounger all day if you do not want to! All the staff are attentive and friendly. The pool is clean and a good size, with two waterslides which are turned on at 11am. There is also a baby pool for children (or adults who just want a lazy cool-off).

We were of bed and breakfast board. Be warned, the breakfast is not good, with very little choice. If you are a 'full english' type of person, then you will have to go elsewhere for your breakfast. You have a choice of two cereals: a type of coco-pop cereal and a type of cornflake. There are olives, and fruits available. You can get a few kinds of cold meats and cheese, and bread which can be toasted. Orange juice is available (but not fresh). And that's basically it. Everyday. Breakfast is between 8 and 10 am.

The location of the hotel was excellent. The beach on your doorstep, and the bars and restaurants only a few minutes walk away. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the steaks (don't go home without trying one). We ate at a different place every night and never had a bad meal. Before every meal you usually get a free starter - a huge turkish pitta bread, which is delicious. So remember, you do not need to pay for a starter. Which is good, because despite what you may have heard, the food and drink is not cheap!

The nightlife near the hotel is fairly quiet. 'Party time' is between 10 and 12, after that they turn the music down. However, the bar usually stays open later. Because of this, I would not recommend the hotel or location for young, lively people. Marmaris would be more you thing! However, for couples or families, it's ideal. Beware, in Turkey, you get hassled! And I mean hassled! When walking past a bar, when walking past a restaurant, when walking past an ice-cream vendor, when walking past a supermarket... you get hassled! And some of them find it very hard to take no for an answer. You have to be very stern.

Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at Golmar Beach, Icmeler. If you want sun, relaxation and friendly service, this place is for you!

Have just return from a 2 week stay and was more then happy. We are a family of 5 and we all came home happy. The hotel is very nice and friendly and clean. You do not have much contact with the staff but thoose who you do meet are more then happy to help you. There is Ahmet around the pool who collects your drinks orders and you pay him at the end of the day. The sun terrace was lovely but do be aware that the floor is metal and gets very hot so make sure you always have your shoes on.The beach is also linked to the hotel and has plenty of sun beds and space. Ahmet will also serve you there too. We were bed and breakfast but did eat a few times in the hotel at lunch and the food was lovely and plenty of it.. Our room overlooked the beach and by looking at the hotel most of the rooms do. The pool was sea water but that didnt effect our enjoyment. The slides were a lot of fun and i even had a go.
Eating in the area was easy as there are a lot of restaurants, We enjoyed a good night at the Majestic which is near the sea front, The food was lovely and the staff put on a great show. Pier 15 was also nice, a quiet meal but the staff cannot do enough to make you happy. We had other family members in Turkey at the same time and we spent my brother in laws birthday here and they made him a huge cake and a special seafood meal. You must go to the Stella show which is right next to the hotel. It is a drag show from a man from Blackpool and he was amazing, fun for all the family.

We went on a jeep safari which was a lot of fun. everyone has water guns and you spend all day squirting each other. The lazy day boat trip is another trip you have to take, stopping in 5 different bays and eating and drinking all day for £10 each. A lot of fun and a great way of topping up your tan.

I am looking into going back next year and i would recommend this holiday to anyone.

Do be prepared to pay for your air conditioning at £4 per day.... believe me you will need it.
The fridge is £1 a day and so is the safe.
If you prepare for this before you go it will not break into your holiday money.

On your return home you may have heard tales of the food prices in Dalaman airport..... well they are more then true. We knew the prices before we got there but having kids who cannot stop eating we had to have mac donalds. 3 happy meals, 1 cheeseburger meal, 1 big mac meal and we paid £47......

Hope you have a good holiday

this bieng our 3rd time here, felt relaxed and unstressed at arriving, do understand you have to pay for the air-con ,fridge and safe at the hotel so dont try and complain its it the price you paid, its not .the hotel was full and the sunbeds were full at 7.30am, so we spent time on the beach, excellent service from the staff, had meals nearby at libertys on the jetty, very romantic, food was superb, also deniz kapisi,s evening entertainment nightly, also twice weekly they do a boat trip around the bay ,from 10-5, you stop every so often to swim and dive into the clear water, also stop for lunch of chicken, salad, chips ,spring rolls, hamburgers, rice and fruit , all for £10 !!! drinks are extra of course, but cheap anyway. all in all a relaxing hol,by the way it was 37C in the shade at 9am , climbing to 48-50C, so slap on the lotion !! ps watch for the ice-cream man onna speedboat!!
