“Great family holiday”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Had 7 days there, with 3 teenagers I can honestly say they never got bored, were busy saving to go again, staff are lovely, food was good, the rooms are dated & carpet stained but don't intend to spend much time in your room when the resort is so fantastic. The hotel itself, dining, bar, pool area is very clean. Maids came in every day. The hotel entertainment was good, I can recommend their turkish bath. If you only want to spend 3 star prices, it was a very good holiday for the money.

Room Tip: All rooms have a fatantic view.

got back on friday from this lovely 3 star hotel.. we were at this hotel at the same time last year and loved it just as much this year,, yes the rooms are a little dated but they are very clean and with maid service everyday and clean towels every day what more could you want.. we were in room 405 and if u want a good view of the bay u need to be on at least level 3.. air con is £4 per night but it surely is worth it when ur experiencing temperatures in the 40s everyday.. u get what u pay for in this hotel so if u want 5 star then pay for it.. .. the staff are very friendly and polite... when buying drinks it is adviseable to use the onsite shop... (much cheaper than ordering from the waiter).. we were cheeky and got ice from the bar but got the knock back form one miserable waiter lol ... dint go to him again.. the beach is just at the front of the hotel with ample free sunbeds and if u want lunch there are bars very close by.. we tended to use the liberty bar.. vey nice food and good friendly staff... icmeler is a very nice place and u feel very relaxed when strolling round the village... plenty of shops and bars and if u want it more lively then for about 70p u can get a dolmus to marmaris which is 10 mins away.. i`ll finish by saying be very careful when changing money... i changed money on three occasions and each time they short changed me by 10 lira... make sure that u work out how much lira u will get in return before u go in the shop as my experience could not have been a mistake as it happened 3 times on the trot.. love this hotel and we`ll be back for a third time next year...

Room Tip: any room on level 4 or 5 are excellent views..

Since we booked our room from booking.com it was even cheaper but did not include AC so we paid 10TL per day for it. The price does not also include the mini bar, however they let you use it,so it's good. The rooms and restaurant area are very basic,do not expect much. It has an old slide in the pool, may hurt yourself since it is a bit worn off. But it is still entertaining mostly for kids, too short for adults. We loved that it was by the sea and it had its own beach, the very end side of the long beach.

Hotel was dull and dirty, staff were miserable, the floors in the rooms were carpeted with many stains and made the very small room very warm even with the expensive air conditioning on. Bath room light was broke and they didn't not fix it. there is a little square window in the toilet with only a grill covering it so anyone could look in if they wanted. Also my partner and I got stuck in the lift and when we buzzed for help at reception no1 came, we managed to prise the doors open and when we got out the man at reception was still sitting there not caring.

Like other reviews we arrived at the Golmar Beach and was immediatly greeted by an awful smell from across the road. The smell is noticable at other times of day when leaving or entering the hotel from the main entrance. However, there is a back entrance straight onto the beach front so the smell can be avoided. Depending on your room location you may also experience noise from the farm and be woken by the cockerels in the early hours.

We were shocked to find that should you want them then you have to pay additionally for a fridge aircon, and a safety deposit box. They also charge additionally if you need to keep your room for a late checkout so beware of these additional costs on what my appear to be a good deal.

The room was basic but very clean with a change of towels every two days and maid service each day. The rooms could do with updating as it's like stepping back in time. There is even an old fashioned radio in the headboard of the bed! That being said they are comfortable enough and the bathrooms are of good size and quality.

If you get a high floor room then you will get good views from the balcony if you are located on
one particular side of the hotel. We initally had a room on the opposite side and had an ugly view of the waterslide. Yes, all rooms can see the sea but at a push in some cases. They may say they are fully booked on some occassions but you should be able to change rooms if you ask and make up some other excuse to change. The rooms are fairly noisy with noise from bars etc travelling around the bay. This might not be noticable if you have your balcony closed but it was far to hot to do that while we were there.

The breakfast was basic but nice enough - plenty of bread, cheese, meats etc. Cereals and hot food such as eggs, beans and toast are available should you want them.

The pool was a decent size and we always managed to get a sunbed though I suggest you place towels early before breakfast to get your spot as everyone else will be doing the same. This is quite frustrating when you see towels on beds all day and no body with them until late in the afternoon when the temperatures have cooled down.

The pool side had waiter service but it was cheaper to use the one site shop for drinks.

Some staff were very friendly others were a little rude, the Turkish bath staff are quite pushy in trying to make a sale and won't always take no for an answer and try to talk to you again each day in case you've changed your mind. They will also come and sit on your sunbed which is a little off puting and may need a kick to leave you alone.

Room Tip: High floor 623 was ours with good view of the bay. Inital room of 4 something (can't remember...

Arrived after a long days travel at the Golmar hotel late evening, was a little shocked at the fact you had to pay for your fridge for the week on top of also paying for aircon and a safety deposit box. The room was basic but very clean with a change of towels every two days and maid service each day. Fantastic view from the balcony and a powerful shower. The breakfast was a very basic, if you like eggs then your in there. :) very repetative!!! THe pool was a decent Size and you always managed to get a sunbed with the beach right on your door step too. The beach however was very peabley... It was better further along with water sports and activities. The pool side had waiter service but it was cheaper to use the one site shop for drinks. Some staff were very friendly others were a little rude. You can get food in the pool bar all day and its not bad for snacks. Out and about!!!! There's thousands of restaurants. To chose from I would definitely recommend Bonjour for there great services and really good foods. They something for everyone, from steaks the best quality to spaghetti Bolognese to fajitas mmmmm. If you want a coffee a drink or milkshake or a cheeky pudding go to the cafe anny up from the hotel. If you want a drink at night the Irish bar is place to be funny family entertainment really friendly bar staff and good offers. Order the cocktail, trust me. Ichmeler is a lovely little resort. with lots to offer I would definitely return. Being pregnant I couldn't do much. It was hot hot hot. Reached 50 degrees one day. The Dolmush was the cheapest way to get round nd you get a taxi ask prices upfront. Loads of shops to get knock off brands, souvenirs gags etc. Marmaris is not to far away with everything you could image.

I have just returned home from a lovely holiday at this resort with my husband and 2 daughters aged 4 and 6. Like most of you we were a little unsure of what to expect after reading the other reviews about the dirty rooms and unfriendly staff here, but i can honestly say we didnt experience this. Yes the food was much the same everyday but it was always delicious and if this isnt a choice for you i would just book it as a b&b as there are so many restraunts to eat at which are not costly.
The staff are very friendly and happy to help, rooms were clean and comfy with towels changed everyday and bedding every other day.
Overall i cannot fault our experience with this hotel.

Room Tip: we stayed on the 4th floor facing the beach. we woke up to an amazing view of the sea and little har...
