We stayed at the Alvaro during the last week in September and the first week in October 2012 (the drop down box did not let us select sept 2012). 2 adults and 3 children aged 10, 6 and 1. We had the best 2 weeks of the year here at the Alvaro, we didn't want to come home. The staff were so friendly, always made an effort to speak and make sure everything was ok and nothing was ever too much trouble no matter what time of day or night. They really did make you feel welcome from first arriving until the very end of your holiday. One night our eldest fell asleep on the seat in the bar and to save waking him up to walk back to our room (we thought he was too heavy to carry), Eddie came over and picked him up and carried him all the way to our room and put him into bed .Our youngest had his 1st birthday while we were here and Eddie arranged a birthday cake and had the Turkish night on his birthday,- the turkish night was great and really good value for money, the food was great, as always, and yet again the staff worked really hard to make the night run smoothly. The night ended with lots of people jumping into one of the pools, including my 10 year old which he loved. We let him have a few jumps into the pool then decided to head back to our room as it got a bit lively but once back in our room we could not hear any noise.
The Alvaro is set in a fantastic location not far from anything, just at the top of the canal. There is no noise on a night time which is good when you have children trying to sleep. The rooms were a good size, very very clean - the maid did a fantastic job especially seen as we have 3 messy children! we had clean bedding and towels every day. We always went out for all of our meals so never had to cook in the apt so being basic didn't affect us.
Our children loved the 3 pools, especially the water slide which got turned on a few times a day and also when the kids (or adults) asked for it on. There is also a small soft play area which the kids loved, and a pool table.
A lot of people who were there had stayed at the Alvaro before and keep going back which i think speaks for its self. We tried to book for next year but could not get booked in so had to book elsewhere, i'm sure we'll walk down to Alvaro to say hi and have a drink, and if the place we are staying in is as good as Alvaro we will be very happy.
Would not hesitate to go back again
