We are just back from a fortnight in the Munamar Beach Hotel. As in previous years the hotel was great, sea view recommended and we had a junior suite, not that there're are any problems with the ordinary rooms. Food absolutely fine and the staff are universally helpful. We will go back.

Room Tip: We have only ever had a sea view room so cannot comment on others bit would plump for the sea view...

We are just back from two weeks in the fabulous Munamar Beach Hotel and we have had a fantastic time. Not only within the hotel itself but in and around Icmeler, we had a few adventures from boat trips to scuba diving. So back to the Munamar hotel. Our bedroom was on the 4th floor, when we come back we would like the same room (428 please Mr Munamar!). We were out the front on the main road and had a view of the mountains above. We did not spend that much time in our room but when we did we found it comfortable and relaxing. The beds are gigantic, easily rolling over about six times before you fall off the other side! Each day our room was cleaned and the towels folded into a different shape each day, everything from swans to flowers and boats, it was always a lovely surprise and special thanks to Arife for that. Our belongings were respectfully tidied and never felt they had been interfered with.

The hotel has a great gym and sauna facilities. We used the gym most days, even if only for a quick 15 minute weights session to longer. I am a keen runner so the only negative for me was the lack of the treadmill but it had probably been battered by the whole season and I could easily have run round the streets or along the beach road, but I was too lazy!!! The sauna was amazing - hottest ever. Free access to the Turkish bath area and sauna as well as a chill out area and Jacuzzi which could be filled up on request. We used the Turkish bath and sauna most days and enjoyed the friendly staff there. They offered us great deals on the full Hammam and massage but we had already been out on the Thomson one (which was soooo good!) so didn't take them up on their offer, maybe next time.

There is a hairdresser on sight who do everything from haircuts and styles to shaves to tattoos. we didn't use it but it is there if you fancy!

We have read a lot of negative comments about the food in this hotel and we must have been staying in a different place because we found the food to be outstanding. Each day there was a huge selection probably a choice of 12-15 different hot meals at lunch and dinner, as well as the biggest selection of salad humanly possible. As well the choice of soups throughout the day and various breads, rolls and flat breads, there was fruit selection and pudding. We took particular fancy to this white vanilla jelly stuff which was delicious and there was a variety of cakes, profiteroles and ice cream. Needless to say we have gained some weight!!! The hot selections were a mix of cultures from lots of meaty Turkish dishes, British pies to pasta and Chinese noodles. You would be struggling not to find something you liked.

Breakfast (7-10) was a big selection of meats and cheeses to cereal as well as all the hot things you would imagine for breakfast and you could request fresh eggs, omelettes and pancakes to be made before 10am, after that was late breakfast until 10.30 which was all the hot stuff. All delicious. People who are expecting bacon need to do some reading about the culture here!
Lunch was 12.30-2 and dinner 7-9.30 so there was always a good time window for you to chose which worked best for you. If you are still hungry at night there was the chance to have night soup between 11-12 and we saw many snacks throughout the day in Carmelos bar.

The pool area was so relaxing with sun loungers all around the pool as well as sheltered bigger sun beds. The pool had its own bar area where you could sit at a table or relax on the couches. We spent most of the end of the day round there trying to catch the last few rays of sunshine before it disappeared down the mountain. The pool was so refreshing, a quick dip in the water was exactly the right thing to do to cool down, it was perfect.

We had read on here that the beach was 300yards from the hotel, this is not the case at all, it is about 3 metres across a footpath. Here you will find ample sun loungers for the hotel guests to use throughout the day. The sea is clean and clear and lovely for swimming. (This is not the cleanest beach we've been on but only due to the thousands of cigarette butts that have carelessly been thrown away. Perhaps the smokers need to take some responsibility and dispose of their cigarette butts in a bin and not on the beach where people have to walk or animals live. Cigarette butts take seven years to disintegrate so its perhaps about time people out there put them in the bin!) Other than that the beach is great. Perfect location near the end so you don't feel surrounded. There are ample umbrellas for those who want shade. The use of towels was a great surprise for us and very useful.

The actual location of the hotel is ideal. Close to the town centre where there are shops and restaurants for people to visit, it is directly next to the jetty where you can get the taxi boat to Marmaris or Turunc. It is by the harbour where many of the boat trips and day trips leave from and the Dolmous buses drive directly past which allows you to take them cheaply in and around Marmaris. It is a great, great location!

We are both young (30 & 31) and it is true that most of the other guests were older than us by a long way, but to be fair we were not on holiday to make friends (although we actually did make loads!) so it suited us to do our own thing. Carmelos bar definitely gives you the chance to do that. There are a few different areas for sitting, inside and out as well as a pool table round the back of the bar which we spent hours and hours on in the sun (its free). There are chill out couches and bar stools. We always enjoyed our time in Carmelos.

And to save the best to last, the staff!!! A special thanks to all the lovely staff who made us welcome and our holiday comfortable and enjoyable. A special thanks to: Onco Bali, Burcu, DJ Mehmet, Guray, Askim, Youness, Gunet, All the Carmelos Bar Staff to name a few. We were given table service for drinks in the evening and were always looked after. Thank you thank you. See you next year.

My wife and I stayed at the Munamar Beach Hotel from 10th-24th October. We had a fabulous holiday, please ignore all the negative reviews I can’t understand what the moaning is all about. For what we paid for two weeks all inclusive I think the hotel was great!

Transfers take around 2hrs, with a 20 minute refreshment stop.

The hotel was lovely and clean, absolutely spotless throughout. The housekeeper cleaned our room every day, fresh towels and clean sheets. Our mini bar was replenished for the first few days after that it was only water, we didn’t mind this though as the bar downstairs have plenty if your thirsty.

The rooms are very modern and plush, carpeted which is unusual for hot countries. We didn’t have a sea view room but a mountain view. We didn’t feel the need to pay the extra for a sea view, the room are lovely and air conditioned, there was a safe in the room free of charge, a walk in shower, tea and coffee.

The food was nice in the buffet restaurant, hot plates and plenty of variety. Lots people may say that food was repetitive but at the end of the day there is only so much they can provide when catering for different nationalities. The only let down during the stay was the Italian à la carte restaurant; the food was not dressed in olive oil it was swimming in it.

Evening entertainment was quite chilled. Adrian the singer and Jamie the entertainment rep were really friendly and tried to involve everyone.

Icmeler itself is a lovely place, very relaxing and just the right size, it has everything you need but if you fancy something livelier you can always head into Marmaris which is 15 minutes up the road if you jump on a local shuttle bus 2.5 Lira each way. Buses are situated directly in front of the hotel on the right hand side of the beach. We did this a few times for a change of scenery and the marina really is breathtaking. I was impressed by how clean and pretty the country is no vandalism, no rubbish lying around, no beggars I was pleasantly surprised.

The weather was good during our fortnight high 20’s to the low 30’s, with half a day of rain.
The beach was fabulous free beds with mattresses, sand was shingles, but I think the scenery of the mountains and the stunning weather more than makes up for it, the sea was absolutely fantastic, plenty of beds, you can get your drinks from the bar 2 minutes away

There is a modern promenade which is a lovely walk on the evening, a few waiters trying to get you into there restaurants, they are friendly and do not pressure you.

I would have no hesitation recommending the Munamar Beach Hotel. If you're after a nice relaxing break with no children then its perfect.
