On arrivng we found the room disappointing, dated, and opened the door to the balcony to face a 10 foot brick wall after requesting a sea view.. The food choice was good and the staff friendly. The jetty along the sea was ideal if you wanted to get away from the pool area where the music could be loud at times. The sea was more like a lagoon and lovely to swim in. If you pay for day trips make sure you are not going to a carpet or leather factory on the way as the rep doesn't tell you everything. Marmaris market is to be avoided at all costs if you don't like being harassed by very persistant traders. Entertainment not to briill but they tried. On the whole we had a good holiday.

Without going over old ground covered in the majority of reviews I've seen, my wife, two daughters (12 & 9 years) and I have just returned from an absolutely fabulous two week break at the Marmaris Park, I would summarise as follows:

Fabulous 2 week break in a top location for a family of 4 - £3,000
A large beer in Icmeler - 3 YTL
A day's boat trip with Jimmy Boy Boat tours - 60 YTL
Watching Russians trying to dance to anything apart from Gypsy Music or Shakira - Priceless!!

On a more serious note, there were a few moans and groans re the food and drink, but they were mainly being made by people who clearly have never been abroad, or who simply have absolutely no idea as to how far away from home they were. One client from Liverpool even moaned to me one evening that he thought it was too hot - I told him he should have tried Torquay, rather than Turkey...The look of reief on some of the adults choosing to raid the kids' section of the resteraunt for stock piles of chips and chicken nuggets was also a big clue!

All in all, you can't go wrong, but don't go there thinking it's Majorca or Benidorm - it isn't, thank god!! That said, very pleased to report for the 38th year on the trot, our german friends have managed to keep 'Speedos' and the colour orange fashionable, although as with the Russians, the words 'please' and thank you' remain outside their everyday vocabulary whilst asking for drinks at the bar, or beach towels. Russians also apppear to be staking a claim on most inappropriate beach wear for women, with the majority of their preferred bikini wear to be more akin to that worn by those who dance round a pole in a London men's club (I would guess!) still, saved them getting changed to go out at night - "Uri -strike up the violins!"

We have just returned from holidaying at the Marmaris Park and on the outside every thing is good, however when you scratch the surface, things are not as they seem:
Food: Seem to cater only for Russians and Turks
1.Pizza only comes in one flavour
2.Omelets only come in one flavour
3.Turkish night don't go,treat yourself to a night out
4.All the food seems to taste the same.
5.The hygiene is first class.
Jimmy Boat Trip
Again seems to be really good value at £9 .Pick up 10am at jetty. What they do not tell
you is that you cannot take any drink or food on board. They take it off you and charge you
1. £1 for a small water
2. £3 for an ice cream
3. You run up a bar tab
Go on an all inclusive,,,,you will save money
Hotel Shop
This is the biggest rip offs on the site
1. Small bottle of Sun tan lotion = £20 that's right £20
I don't know how he sleeps at night.
You have been warned.
Sun Beds
Get up early if you want a good spot you need to move around with the sun.
Beware of diesel in the sea as when the boat at the jetty was refuelled there was a large diesel spillage into the sea and the owner laughed when we complained about this
Rooms:Good
small but clean
Air con is free but you cannot leave it on when you leave the room
Staff
very good especially pool bar tender (the one with hat)
Reception
Need to replace the two girls
Entertainment
Not very good and i am being kind
Overall View
Yes this hotel is a 4 star but you take away that stunning view and you could end up with a good 3star.
This is my own opinion and you should not let me disway you from going but do take on board what I have said

We’ve just returned from Marmaris Park (August 2010) – our second time there, having first visited in 2009. It is the only place I have ever visited twice, so as you can imagine, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for couples and families. Here is an honest review, in response to both the positive and negative comments posted so far.

The hotel itself is really great – situated between the lovely town of Icmeler, and the not-so-nice town of Marmaris. Both towns are a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride in opposite directions – Icmeler being by far the better of the two. Both have markets, lively bars and restaurants, but Marmaris is far more of a tourist trap, with constant hassle by touts to visit their establishments that you don’t see as much in Icmeler.

We arrived both times late in the evening, and after check-in, had our luggage carried to our rooms, followed by being given a “cold plate” of food – basically a salad available in the restaurant to late arrivals. The reception staff are mostly polite apart from one girl we encountered both years, who we found surly and unhelpful.

There are two types of accommodation – rooms in the main hotel, and bungalows in the ground, set in a pine forest. We chose to stay in the bungalows both times, away from the main hotel. Even though the hotel rooms are charged at a premium, the bungalows give peace-and-quiet and better views. The music/entertainment does go on until around 1230am, but cannot be heard from the bungalows. We spoke to people who had hotel rooms overlooking the bar area, who said that with the double-glazed patio doors to the balcony closed, they were not disturbed by the noise.

There is free air-conditioning in the rooms which works very well. Use of an in-room safe is available for a charge of around £15. The rooms are basic but functional - cleaned daily, beds made up, and bathroom towels changed every day. Towels for use at the pool or beach are available from reception for a deposit which you get back. These can be exchanged every Tuesday and Friday. One review below said these were small towels – they’re not – they are large green beach towels and all identical.

The “animation team” are a friendly bunch of people who work around the clock every day except Monday, arranging poolside events, volleyball, darts, etc, and evening shows for entertainment. They try to get everyone involved, but if you don’t want to, there is no pressure.

The food, for an “all-inclusive” hotel is okay. Breakfast is pretty much the same each day – a selection of salads, cereals and meats, as well as hot food like beans, potatoes, sausages, and fried, boiled or omelette-style eggs. Lunch and evening meal is a hot and cold buffet, with a variety of cooked meats and vegetables, along with additional dishes cooked in front of you by the chefs. Wednesday night is “Turkish Night” with a variety of traditional Turkish food and entertainment. You can also get pizzas and snacks down by the beach between 1230pm and 4pm.

There are two a-la-carte restaurants, one fish and one “Turkish” which you can visit once during your visit. These can only be booked the day before between 10am and 4pm.
The free bar has local Efes beer which is fine, as well as soft drinks, cocktails and spirits. These are definitely not as strong as you would get in the UK, but the large measures and the fact that you can have as much as you like makes up for this! Most of the bar staff are friendly and cheerful, especially Esed, who told us he had been working there for 15 years.

There is an onsite shop, which although expensive compared to shops in the town, does stock everything you might need – food, water, alcohol, souvenirs, etc. Other shops include a Turkish barber where Arif will give you a great close-up Turkish shave, and a hair and beauty salon. You don’t need local currency to buy anything here – everywhere accepts English money, and you will be given change based on the current pound/lira exchange rate.

The pool area in front of the main hotel is great for the kids and next to the bar. It is surrounded by sunbeds, but you will need to be up early in order to get your towel down to “claim” one! Walk down some steps from the pool and you will find a long jetty by the sea, again with sunbeds – this was our preferred area, since it is far less busy and much quieter than the pool area, with great views of the surrounding islands.

Down by the sea you will find “Jimmy Boy” who sells boat-trips and excursions. You can buy these in town, and in the Hotel, buy would definitely recommend you buy from Jimmy – these are great value at only a few quid for a full day out on his “lazy days” trip which includes lunch.

The whole place is very clean and tidy all of the time – this does mean the staff can be quite keen in removing your glasses and plates the second you appear to be finished.

In other reviews people have complained about too many steps – you would however probably expect this since the whole complex is built on the side of the mountain.

People have also complained about the amount of Russians and Germans in the hotel, who generally demonstrate a lack of politeness – although they were still present this year, the crowd were predominantly British.

Overall, this was a great holiday – the weather is fantastic, and you are guaranteed a hot sunny day every day.

We have done this hotel twice now, and would not rule out going back.

The actual hotel is excellent, situated right by the sea,all amenities are close to hand. The rooms are more than adequate and cleaned daily. The air conditioning works well which in August is very important as the temperature outside is 40+.
With the exeption of the hotel reception all the staff are really friendly. The reception staff are certainly not probably trained by the KGB.
The main problem we encountered was the noise. The volume of the music from 10.00pm onwards was unbearable, not only can you hear it but you can feel it .We asked to be moved because of it.Happy to say they did the next day.
The food is very boring, more or less the same every day albeit there is plenty of it.
Make sure you have a room as far away from the pool area as possible to avoid the nightly noise.
Take the bus or taxi to the town a couple of times to have a meal out for a change from the hotel food.
Boat trips are very good value, starts from the landing stage at 10.00am until 4.30pm £9.00 including lunch.
