Went 2nd May to Thomson couples munamar hotel, 1st visit to Turkey so alittle apprehensive. No probs had fantastic relaxing holiday, made to feel welcome, everyone so friendly. Thomson rep Elias was amazing, definitely went the extra mile for everyone, by far the best rep we have ever had. Hotel great position, food plentiful, lots of choice, waiters in restaurant friendly, particular mention to Askin he was bril, worked really hard and brought a smile to many faces. Enjoyed Adrians singing and guitar playing. Had such a fantastic time have just booked to return late September now if thats not a good recommendation what is ?

Room Tip: room at back, facing mountains, happy to have same room again

Booked this a couple of weeks before we went and on reading some reviews we were a little aprehensive but no need to worry, we had a lovely spacious room overlooking the pool but not noisy. Food was not the best we have had but definitely not the worst. Entertainment was repetitive but Jamie and Adrian worked very hard and made us smile on many occasions, Jamie make a mean summer punch with his own special ingredient he will be pleased to tell you what it is ! Location perfect on the beach front. Bar staff always had a smile and we never had to wait for a drink. Met some lovely people and have come back with only happy memories.

I cannot complement this hotel enough, the staff were amazing, the owner of this hotel is a wonderful man that socialized with us during our holiday. He even ate at the all inclusive restaurant which goes to show how lovely the food was. The hotel was on the beach, had a lovely pool and had lots of shops and restaurants around it. I wasn't ready to go home.
It was truly the best holiday I've ever had, and i am already saving to go back next year.
The staff made my holiday, they advised where to go and what to experience.

Room Tip: We had a pool view and it was stunning you could see all around you!!!

We traveled to the hotel as a couple and I must say that we were quite disappointed at the first day, as we saw the hotel, the staff, the rooms, the beach and the food. However this was probably not particularly fault of the hotel itself, but by our expectations and by some sort of misconception from our agency. However looking back at the trip, I think that the hotel was not bad at all, even though I wouldn't probably return to it (not so much for the experiences, but because I think that it is not so much fun going to the same place over and over again...).

To the hotel itself: It is a sort of a lottery in terms of your room possibilities. You might get a nicer, modern room, with windows to the pool (quiet and calm), or you might end up with windows to the street and you will have to listen to Turkish entertainment until very late in the night... But in terms of the rooms themselves I think that they are clean, they have everything you need or expect (including a TV with BBC World News), but who spends most of his holiday in a room anyway?

The food was okay, but again it was sort of a lottery, in terms of what is going to be served in the all inclusive selection in the buffet. The only problem I had was with breakfast, which was very quickly becoming dull, as there was little selection and not very nice things being served... Dinners had a larger selection and I think you could always select something to eat. They even have french fries for those, who can't live without them...

The pools were clean, but generally very occupied since the early morning and the beach was quite small, with not so clean sea (I would say average cleanliness), but that is caused by the fact, that the hotel is near a port, so not really anyone's fault.

The thing you want to watch out for is Russians. Now, I am not a racist, but I understand that some people might not want to visit the hotel because of this fact. I would say that 90% of the hotel's clients were Russians, which makes it almost Russian exclusive, meaning that they will be talking to you in Russian all the time, because they have the feeling, that it is only inhibited by them. I must repeat that there is nothing particularly wrong with that, but the hotel is quite accustomed to this fact and it even has some staff only Russian and everyday's entertainment in the evening is fully in Russian (with dancing and singing Russian songs). But if you want to just go to the beach, then return for meals and spend evenings in nearby bars or your rooms, this fact will probably not concern you in the slightest. If you search for more international hotel, I would strongly advise you some other hotel.

The staff is okay, I would say that are incredibly pleasant, sometimes even a bit rude, but it's not a major disaster, there is a large number of staff members and you avoid the less pleasant ones very easily.

Overall I was satisfied by the hotel and I enjoyed my stay, despite all the minor problems.

Room Tip: Avoid all the 400's, those are above kitchens and close to the street...

Arrived back on the 25th June after 2hr Delay. All inclusive for 10 days but only used the Breakfast/ Lunch Buffet and Drinks, ate out every night. The Hotel is on the Main road 5 mins to Private Beach and 5-10 mins to centre of Icmeler. There are 2 blocks on either side of a side road and we stayed in the rooms above restaurant side. 3 swimming pools 1 with slide by restaurant.
ROOMS. Ok but small bacony, no drawers, only shelves and bed very hard, but overlooked the Swimming pool. Linen changed everyday which was good.Noticed on 1st day lack of English speaking people must have been 90% Russian/ Polish, and lots of young children.
FOOD Typical Turkish breakfast - Salad, Fruit, Bread, Salami, boiled egg and watered down fruit juices.
Buffet Lunch - again more salad fruit bread some dodgy looking casseroles, but a distinct lack of meat. As predominately Russian, the food was typically eastern European, and did not cater for British Cuisine. The food was very repetitive every day. We did not eat The Buffet Dinner, but it seemed more of the same as lunch. The all inclusive drinks were served till midnight, and during the day were served in small glasses (ask for 2 every time) preference for bigger glasses were given to the non brits!!.
Icmeler is a very lovely place to stay with some great Restaurants: The Venice Bar and the Majestic to name just 2. We noticed the prices of food and drink in the Restaurants and Supermarkets had increased a lot in the past 2yrs. The Munamar Beach Resort would appeal to say a family of 4 on a tight budget, as no overheads. The Hotel is rated 4*, but compared to other 4* hotels say in CYPRUS, does not compere. I would say a good 2-3*. Overall if the hotel upgraded its food to be more universal and also upgraded its rooms, yes it could become a good 4* hotel as its location and other activites are very good.

Room Tip: Rooms 423/417 Above the Restaurant Quiet after Midnight

I stayed here for 10 days from June 14th on arrival at the hotel the staff were friendly and helpful and brought our cases up to our room the room I had was over looking the pool with the slide which was quiet the room itself was nice but no draws the bed was very uncomfortable springs gone in mattress Maids came in everyday changed the sheets but didn't always replace the towels the all inclusive food was ok if u liked salad pasta etc the drinks they gave u were given in small glasses so you ended going getting two at a time the hotel was mainly full of Russians but never had any problems with them wouldn't let us have late check out even though we only left at 10 pm also once u check out they cut of your wrist band just take your band off and when u go to checkout just tell them you lost it that why you can still get free drinks when going to book trips stay away from the guy on the canal he charges way more than other and is very unreliable when going to pick you up would recommend the venice n majestic restaurant excellent meal great entertainment lovely staff nice place to stay but wouldn't go back to munamar beach hotel

Having booked this a week before we went, it was our 2nd holiday without our children & we wanted to go somewhere where there were no children....& we found the perfect place...the Munamar Beach hotel. The location was perfect right on the beach & at the end of the resort. The standard of the hotel was fantastic & we couldn't fault the staff....they were all polite, pleasant, very friendly....& were on the go all day long & still had a smile at midnight. The food is good & plentiful & ok a little repetitive but I think you would get that with all "AI" accommodation. There are plenty of bars & restaurants in the resort if you with to try something else & with the current Lira prices is very reasonable. Pay extra for a sea view we had Room 419 & the view was wonderful. The bar closes at midnight so there is little noise & again if you want more then bars are open in the town...but to be honest it's do relaxing at the hotel I think you would struggle to find the energy. Take a boat taxi to Marmaris & go round the marina..it's lovely although the rest of town is very busy & you'll find yourself wanting to back to the quieter resort of Icmeler. I know some people have complained about the wait at the bat...a top tip is to get a seat at the bar & you're served quicker...plus the bar staff are lovely & friendly & in their quieter moments are happy to chat to you. All in all it the hotel was just what we needed...& although we live our kids (teenagers now), it was lovely to just be a couple again!!

Room Tip: Pay for a sea view & high floor if possible...it's well worth it
