“Don't listen to the moaners and groaners”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012 via mobile

We too are seasoned travellers and have stayed in many different types and standards of hotels but what you have to consider here is the price you pay. We stayed for one week from the 22 to the 29 October which is towards the end of the season so the hotel wasn't full but we found nearly everything to our satisfaction.
Our room: We upgraded to a mini suite with a sea view, the room was spacious and spotlessly clean, yes the balcony could be larger but who cares..!!! Towels were changed every day and toiletries topped up and the bed linen was changed twice during the week.
Restaurant: breakfast, lunch and dinner were all served buffet style but were plentiful, attractive and tasty, if I was to be really picky I would say the food could have been hotter on occasion but there was a good selection of English and European dishes at all times (no English breakfast, but eat continental on holiday for gods sake) the waiting staff were friendly and helpful and the tables were always set with glasses and cutlery every time we dined.
Bars: we were all inclusive so enjoyed local spirits and beer. The wine wasn't the best quality I have ever drunk but then Turkey has never been famous for its wine. Omar the bar man was efficient and served as quickly as he could and yes a small tip never hurts if you want To Insure Prompt Service (TIPS)
Entertainment: Joe, Vicky and Adrian kept us royally entertained throughout the week, throw in the Belly Dancer, the young Turkish dance troop, the Turkish singer and you could imagine you we're on holiday in Turkey..!!!
The spa: we enjoyed a range of treatments at excellent prices from two young Thai girls and Omar (I'm sure not everybody was called Omar) looked after us like VIP's
The hotel: beautifully clean and well maintained especially as you consider it was in the final week of the season and a great location.
Icmeler: a lovely resort we enjoyed a couple of walks along the promenade to Marmais and water taxi rides back. Lots of good quality authentic fake goods at excellent prices and the best Turkish shave and haircut I've ever had at a local barbers.
All in all a fantastic break for our first time in Turkey so if you're thinking of taking a holiday don't listen to the moaners and groaners who want full English and Fish and Chips go to the Munamar Beach Hotel with an open mind ready to enjoy a first class break at a good price. Enjoy.

Stayed at this hotel from 20th - 27th October. We were wary of going due to the reviews but I think many of these have been mixed up with another hotel close by called "club munamar beach2 as many of the pics on here are not of the munamar beach hotel. We arrived late and were greeted by friendly reception staff who had sandwiches for us and midnight soup and were showed to our room which was very clean and pleasant and looked over the beach. Food overall was good, could be a bit hit and miss some nights but there was always plenty to choose from. I can undestand the bar issue in the summer as we did queue occasionally in October out of season.
If you go here you must have a Turkish Bath. We booked the full package £100 for 2 of us which included a sauna, turckish bath, facial, massage, and jacuzzi with a bottle of wine too! Thankyou to Omer who runs the spa - you really made our holiday!
Only let down was entertainment. Turkish night was good but other than this it was pretty much the same guy with his guitar, although Joe did a fab set 2 nights which we thoroughly enjoyed - and the quizzes!
We booked this hotel cheap through 'On The Beach.com'. It was well worth the money and I would definitely go back. If you can get a cheap deal, definitely worth a stay. Lovely location, nice staff, just be wary of October weather as you can get quite a bit of rain!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room!

We had not read any reviews before we went out - never do. Our expectations were high as it was not our original booking - our Hotel had decided to close early for the season (perhaps a lucky escape ?!). It was also our honeymoon - not either of us's first I hasten to add we are not youngsters expecting an 18 - 30 experience ! We also appreciated it was end of season.
Anyway, points I agree with - no, it's not 5 star by the standards of, say, Spain. Yes, I too suspected the young bar manager was related to the 'bosses' and appeared stand offish but I perservered and he ended up going to the bookies to put a football bet on for me ! The rest of the bar staff were efficient and pleasant - try talking to people and being friendly yourself ! I also agree that the senior management are letting the hotel 'coast'.
Omer the spa manager - a star, anyone who can persuade me to join my wife for the experience is a hell of a salesman. However, every day he was pleasant and chatty eve though he had made his 'sell'.
The room was excellent and cleaned thoroughly every day (even the afternoons on days we lay in). With the drinks - for Efes to be the standard beer is excellent. It's a premium (5%) lager that is known throughout the world. Spirits were not watered down, just local fare not of the same strength of the spirits some people are used to.
I don't think they can win on the restaurant. Reviews on here say the table clearers were over zealous, others that they had to clear their own tables. I know there will busier times than others but I have only read reviews for September/October and I will just say they were efficient, unobtrusive and friendly. The food itself was varied and tasty I always had something different at lunchtime and dinner. No it was not always piping hot but this has been my experience on other all inclusive holidays.
The entertainment ? Enjoyed Turkish night and Joe and Adrian were game on other nights but I didn't go on holiday to sit and listen to regurgitated Eagles hits anyway.
Overall then, we both enjoyed it and being October I suppose the age profile of the guests is going to be high. I will leave at that.

where to begin stayed for 9 nights from 4/ 13 of october good location but that is all can be said when arrived at hotel greeted by unpleasant reception staff. allocated a pool veiw room which was of a good size but had filthy carpets not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.ate in buffet on first night both my husband and myself ill so did not eat in hotel again after that drinks very wartered down and very rude bar staff and extremly lazy bar managerall he ever did was stand at end of bar . i am a very well seasoned traveller and no way is this a 5 star hotel would be lucky to scrape 3 it is all fur coat and no knickers my advice to anybody considering going is do notgo look at the aqua hotel instead or the fantasia thomson should take a good look at this hotel and eifher bring it up to scratch or do not use it as it is an utter disgrace

Room Tip: do not waste your money

We are regular travellers with Thompson and was very disappointed with the way this hotel was run its a fabulous resort and good hotel with lazy rude management and let down by lack of leadership ,food area is kept clean but food lacks flair that's mostly the same with not a lot of choice pure luck if its hot ! Wooden Tables filthy covered in stains we were there for 10 days and the last day they put white cloths on you had to walk around trying to find a table that mostly you Had to go and get your own cutlery ,salads very good well laid out .Entertainment all they need to do is look the age range their playing to this is a couples holiday songs from jungle book are not easy listening .I really hope that some one sorts out this hotel cause its a Gem

Well where shall we start.
Good Points
Thompson Rep Ezra was brilliant, most helpful and informative.
Spa in the hotel run by Omer the manager, great service and did us a fantastic package at a great price.
Beach attendant, very friendly and helpful.
Nice helpful welcome on arrival at 3am in the morning.
Fantastic Location, we had a room with sea view and it was wonderful, a very well kept room and friendly room maid.
Not so good points
Service in the restaurant was non existent, we even had to lay our own table at breakfast and Dinner twice as there were none ready, we even had to find our own cutlery.
The food was not up to four star standard, Luke warm at best and somewhat boring.
Outside bar lacked service, well you had to go up and Que. for your drinks, the only time you got waiter service was if you tipped.
Most staff looked as though they really did not want to be there.
The money we paid was so not worth it.

It was such a shame as the hotel has such potential.

We would return to Icmelar but stay at either The Aqua or The Fantaise Hotels.

Our first time in Turkey ,we were recommended Munamar by our local thompson agent ,told it was a 4/5 star hotel ,they must be giving out stars in a lucky bag , this hotel is 3 star and thats at a push.We stayed 14 nights all inclusive what a waste of good hard earned money, after night 3 we ended eating out due to the fact we were sick, and fed up eating cold food, the WIFI never worked in our room ,and only for a short time in reception area. piano bar was never open the whole two weeks we were there .WHY ???? As for the bar staff rudest i have ever meet in all my life ( SACK THEM NOW ) Restaurant was a joke ,must be the only 4/5star hotel you have to walk round and round untill someone finished to get a table then chase after a waiter to clean it (JOKE ) The only good thing to say about this hotel was the maid did a great job cleaning the room .I posted a review while we were at the hotel 0n5th oct to warn other people not to stay here what happened to it i dont know. The comments book in the hotel says it all about this hotel RUBBISH AND A WASTE OF GOOD MONEY
