“Great holiday at the Marti”

A few weeks before our holiday I had read the reviews to the hotel ( which were generally poor ) and arrived full of apprehension.
Holiday complete and what a great time we had, no complaints in fact only praise for the resort the hotel it's staff, food etc. etc.
I really don't understand the reasons for raising the minor irritations some of the complainants have, why don't they just get on and enjoy it, highlight the pluses.
What a resort fantastic views of the bay and mountains a joy to behold.
The hotel's accomodation was top quality - a suite with terrace overlooking the bay.
The hotel's food of good quality with plenty of choice
Service was what we like not OTT but at the same time if required then was there to be had.
We'll definitely re-visit probably in a few years time and it would definitely be a return to the Marti.

Both my wife and myself were a bit concerned before we arrived at the Marti due to some of the negative reviews, However these negative reviews in our opinion are not justified. we stayed for two weeks 20th June 2013 till 4th July2013 on an all inclusive stay and we stayed in block 3 room 309. We could not have asked for anything better the rooms were out of this world cleaned and towels changed every day the maid was so friendly. The hotel grounds do have the wow factor the pools are great even though we did not use the pools due to us been beach bums. We found all the staff so friendly and helpful they could not do enough for us. We would like to thank the customer relations team who arranged a birthday cake and special table for my birthday it was such a nice surprise. the beach is well maintained private and you get no hassle we felt so safe on the beach we would leave our belonging there when we went lunch or drinks. This hotel is worth every penny we paid for and it is going to be on our list for a return visit within the next two years. Don't be put off by the negative comments that appear some people just like to complain.

Since the last year (when we were in this hotel and everything was perfect) the hotel lost it's service and food quality.

As far as it has now several Certificates and Awards - the management relaxed and doesn't feel the pulse.

Ok, let's start with "Pluses" in comparison with our imrpession from the last year:
- service in Patisserie didn't change. Yes, it's great and staff works hard with smiles;
- there are no wasps near Kapadokkia restaurant, so you can enjoy your meal outdoor;
- Guest relation staff didn't change and works as last year - they did their best to help guests.

That's all "Pluses".

"Minuses":
- last year we had a LOT of dishes, but now the variety is poor. Sweets has been cut - in twice less, the salads don't have the proper tastes, tasteless tomatoes,... oh... They slice salads beforehand and during the meal they are already not so fresh. And during the meal you see, that your vegetables are from yesterday or the day before yesterday.
- the plates are dirty. Yes, we saw dirty plates (which were under or above clean ones), so, we had to find clean ones and clean spoons, to find clean forks. And IT'S for the 5 star hotel?!?!?!
- one time in the pool bar I've ordered a cup of coffee and the waiter brought the cup with someone lipstick prints - is it acceptable you think? In this Otag bar all glasses, cups, etc are dirty. Don't know why, may be they don't have a water enough. Also, I don't like someone's hair in my salads from this bar.
- my husband's ordered an apple juice in Kapadokkia restaurant. The waiter brought the glass and how we were surprised! The juice was spoiled! May be they create a wine or cider from Tetrapak juices? I don't know.
- a lot of rude Russians with drunk speeches, a lot of Turkish guests, which think, that they are the one guests in the hotel. The audience has been changed completely - now a lot of Russians, Turkish, Arabian guests and several Europeans.
- Animation. This year the animation team is lazy sloths. They relax, eat and do nothing, and complain, that they earn too less money for HARD work. Of course, please, raise their salaries, because we saw animators only in the morning for several minutes and on the evening shows.
Ah, when some boss came in the hotel for several days - to check everything - the animators at last woke up and did at least something.
- the atmosphere of the entire hotel has changed completely. Lats year it was European, calm, cozy, family hotel. But now it's just 3 star hotel with poor service, some unnecessary rush, etc.

We are in shock, how it's possible to spoil the reputation within a year.

We Just came from a week stay in the hotel. The Room is great i had a king size bed for me and wife and a sofa transformed into a bed for my two little girls and we managed to sleep from the first day very comfortably. The view is sea side but it is great because you can see the pool area and the mountains in the area at the same time. The bathroom is large enough and clean. Room service is great and the minibar is filled with water and beverages, even that the minibar refill process wasn't as expected in the way given in the brochure on daily basis. The pools are one of the best pools i have seen in my life and we didn't need to go to the beach. The food is good but sometimes the plates were not refilled as fast as it is expected. The entertainment team isn't the best i have seen before as show quality(a not real amphitheater) but they are friendly at conversation. the biggest flaw in my opinion is the internet service. they have a paid service and a free service. the paid service is very expensive and the free service is very slow and limited in the area of coverage, i expected a better internet service at the price we paid. However these flaws don't prevent to be an excellent stay to be recommended for anyone who need a true week of peace of mind). Tip: go for Ultra Inclusive. Restaurant Prices outside the resort are not cheap as before.

Room Tip: Take a sea view or sea side view form second floor and above.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay and we cannot understand the negative comments about this resort. Having been to Turkey 5 times this will be the 1st time we will go back to the same resort again. Stunning scenery, beautiful kept grounds, very clean, plenty of food to please even the fussiest eaters, lovely room we only booked side sea view but what a view! Yes sunbeds were getting more difficult to get as it got busier due to early reserving but if you have not come across that before on holiday then you have been lucky - it goes on everywhere!!!! All staff were friendly and helpful. This resort does not deserve some of the negative comments it gets but then again there are some people that you will never please. We will be back next year and can't wait.

The resort has a map.
We booked a 5 star resort in hopes to get at least 5 star service but we were shocked at the poor quality of service and rooms. Our room must have been the cheapest as we were hidden in the back somewhere with little to no A/C. We had to leave the A/C on when we stepped out so we could survive when we stepped back in. When we brought this to the reception's attention, they informed us it was an ongoing problem. However it was very obvious the location of our room was targeted since as soon as you walked towards that area, the humidity gets really high and it just smells like ocean. The sheets were not changed except maybe once in our 3-night stay. The towels looked really overused. Once you step outside towards the pool area, everything looks pretty and clean. But as a warning, do not attempt to ask of anything from any of the staff. The little English is fine but the alertness is non-existent. Free WIFI was only available at the lobby, with a charge to get it working in your room. We also went for the spa, which wasn't bad but when you're lying in the Turkish bath getting a massage half naked, you don't expect the next appointment to just walk in and wait while you finish. The best thing about this place was the electric scooter service which you could rent out for yourself and take around the whole strip of beach for as many hours as you like - for a charge of course. You could also rent out bicycles for 20 TL for the whole day. The dinner buffet was nice and could get crowded but don't miss the 7-9 slot because the late dinner buffet will only serve you leftovers with one anxious waiter who can't wait to finish his shift. Please keep in mind that this is not a snobbish rant, I've been to 4-star hotels and boutique hotels who have better things going on.

Room Tip: If you for the cheap room, you will get no A/C.

Even hotel and it is location is very nice, staff and organization is not like a 5 star hotel! Because of a technical problem we need to stay in another room for one night instead of a sea view one. One of hotel manager ordered us a lunch in Italian restaurant for excuse which was free for us already! Also he offered to serve our breakfast to our room which is never came, we were about to miss the regular breakfast. When we remind him about these items while we were leaving, he couldn't remember any of them! As a result they made nothing to excuse themself, on the contrary they made us upset for everyday.
In addition, our bed was not twin but they combined two single beds which was really uncomfortable.
Lastly, there was many different types of food whereas none of them were delicious.
I recommend to go another 5 star hotel, if you realy want to relax during your holiday..

Room Tip: sea view rooms have really good view, worth for extra paying

We are sorry that if you couldnt take your room due to technical problem but then has been prepared lovely room at your second day. I guess there is misunderstanding that we gave free charge of service at La Grotta Restaurant till 5 o'clock all our Ultra All Inclusive guests and we already published all around the hotel including all tour opearator. And if one of manager arraged you a free A'la Carte servise for your satisfaction this means choosing a meal from Menu, here is some specialty that we suggest all our guest Italian Pizza which is prepared special cooker. We have late breakfast till 11.00 at Otağ Restaurant.
