How can u sum up this hotel? Well we stayed on 4th floor pool side very noisy as bar kept open till 3,4,5am.
Food? Mainly ate out as there were cats getting fed all times, even on tables, totally disgusting! Food very basic, not labeled so u don't know what u were eating.
Drinks served in paper cups, a joke.
Overall an ideal location for the hotel, just too noisy for us, food wouldn't give it to my dog!
I'd love to go back to ichmeler however would not visit the hotel vela!

It should be called faulty towers

Arrived at the Vela on 23rd Sept late at night. We were given the key to room 503. After reading other reviews I was aware the top rooms were very dark. I immediately said I was not happy. Samet on reception said the hotel was full only 501/503 available and to come back in the morning. My Fiance & I went to room 503 however within minuites we returned to reception and requested 501, an end room as the noise from another guest snoring in the ajoining room of 503 was so loud!!!
We decided to stay in room 501 even though it was very dark it had amazing views from the balcony ( we had to stand up to see over the balcony that was a brick wall) not glass as on lower floors. But quiet at night.. We had clean towels every day however as mentioned in other reviews our floors were not swept or mopped the whole of our two week stay!!! We had a leak in the room due to a thunder storm and were offered an 'up grade' to the verde hotel. We had heard that the verde catered for mainly Russian guests so opted to keep our room at the vela. A bit of rain water was not a big problem for us, we asked for clean sheets for our bed and towels for the floor to catch the drips!
The Restaraunt staff are very friendly especially Mustafa, Gokhan & Memet. Breakfast was good but the food was very repetative, 'hot' dishes were always cold. Excellent if you like salads.
If you are used to 4 & 5 star AI hotels don't go to the vela as many drinks, spirits and Beers are not included in their AI package. Martin works very hard behind the bar & Metain who works around the pool area is very funny. We also had a laugh with Jaffa....'Alright mate!!'
We ate out at the Indian restaurant next door & also at the Bonjour Restaraunt across the square both were excellent.
We witnessed other guests arriving only to be told the hotel was double booked!!
Icmeler is a beautiful place & the Dolphin Meet is a must! It was excellent. Beware when booking the Moonlight Cruise as you are told you will be picked up from your hotel and returned to your hotel this is not true. you are picked up but you are not collected after the trip therefore have to make your own way back. We went on the boat named 'Black Pearl' believe me we were hassled the whole of the trip & made to feel very very uncomfortable by a guy who we think was the Captain.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor are Attic rooms & are very very dark!!

Firstly we got to the hotel and room was very nice easy to check in so we were pleased. Reception staff great. Me and my partner love our food and are not fussy at all, but the food was absolutely terrible at best!!! We ate out nearly every night. Bar staff rude and not a big choice of all inclusive drinks, by the end of the holiday we were drinking out of paper cups they use for coffee!!!!! Until someone complained and then the bar staff went back to proper glasses/cups. We were on the ground floor and the room was nice spacious and clean, the location is good because near centre of icmeler, but unfortunately would not go back to this hotel but would go back to icmeler!!!!!

Room Tip: Ground floor good but noisy.

We booked this hotel with the intensions of using it as a b/b holiday as got a good bargin on a full package with jet2 holidays,it was going to work out more expensive to book b/b.We stayed for a week 28th Sept to 5th Oct,i had read some good and bad before we went about over booking so I emailed the hotel before to request a lower floor room facing onto the square, all though they did not reply to my email we got the room we asked for room 205.The room was large with 3 single beds very clean and kept very clean during our stay with fresh towels every day,the room also included aircon, fridge and tv,the bathroom was a decent size with a good shower and always had hot water and there was an hairdryer in there aswell..Decent balcony with furniture over looking the fountains I could have sat there all day people watching it was lovely..
Food cannot comment much about the food as we went out to eat at night in some lovely restaurants,we did however have one evening meal as when we were on our way out I seen they were cooking fresh full sea bass which I like so decided to give it a go,we had soup followed by sea bass with pasta and salad and a couple of glasses of wine we sat in the outside area and enjoyed the meal.We had breakfast most mornings and there was a good choice aswell, was never in the hotel during the day as we went to the beach and had lunch there so cannot say what there was for lunch. We did have a few drinks around the pool bar when we came back from the beach and also a couple of drinks in the evening before we went out to eat.
The hotel is in a fab location and we never encountred any rude staff, check in was very quick asswell. We did hear people moaning about the hotel and food but they never seemed to leave the hotel and some had only paid £420 for 2 weeks including flights and transfers what were they expecting champagne and caviar,it is a 3 star hotel not a 5 star and there is some great bars and restaurants around at good prices..
We have stayed in lots of 4 and 5 star hotels which have been fantastic, but this was just a cheap get away for a week for us and suited us as we had all ready had our 2 weeks holiday in the Bodrum area at the end of June.Don't think the hotel is realy geared up for A/I as the pool as not got very many loungers and only a few tables and chairs so if everyone stays in to get there food and drinks like lots did it would not be big enough..
All in all we had a great holiday and would like to thank all the staff and jet2 holidays for this,we would return again to the hotel if the price was right to use again as a B/B.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms over looking the square to sit on your balcony and people watch,

We arrived at the Vela hotel very early hours of September 17th to find out that because of the one night of rain they had had, that our rooms had been affected. So we were moved to the Ida hotel for 2 nights. Baring in mind we had booked all inclusive, we had no food at the Ida and had no water etc. either. We had to walk across to the Vela for every meal time, which to be fair, is not that long a walk but still it was the principal. We got talking to some other people who were also supposed to be staying at the Vela hotel to find out they had been overbooked and had also been moved. We stayed at the Ida (which is a lovely hotel) for 2 nights then we were offered an 'upgrade' to the Negris/noa hotel or stay at the Vela, obviously we chose the upgrade (wish we had done out homework first though!!). We had to pack up all of our belongings and head across to the Negris/noa hotel into a substandard room which also received complaints. Anyhow that's another review. I would never book to stay at the Vela again as it seems to be a ploy in order to get other hotels business, which would not ordinarily get booked. Very, very disappointed as we were just living out of suitcases for our first 4 days.

Room Tip: Never even got to see a room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We arrived at the vela hotel in icmeler on the 17th of september early hours of morning we were given two rooms on floor 5 the children's room was fine overlooking the sea and square.
My husband and my self were given a single room box room with two single beds I took one look and stormed back down to reception to complain I was told no rooms available even tho we booked two twin rooms so had to wait till next day.
Went down for breakfast next day and ssked for a different room to be told couldn't swap us till Wednesday and I said no way was I staying another night in the room so spoke to rep who got us moved to different room still on floor 5 but bigger room only thing was the smell threw vent pipes was disgusting I took cleaners stuff of trolley so i could clean myself and when we asked for room to be cleaned never was you could not walk round without shoes on or ur feet were black.
Do not leave money on side cause cleaners assume it's tip and take it.
Food basic but ok less chicken would be nice food on Sunday the 29th was shocking we didn't eat at all there was bad and worst day.
Mustafa the waiter was amazing and we had such a laugh with him girl behind reception rude pool man was very funny Guy and bar staff ok.
Overall amazing holiday met some great people while there would not recommend going back to the hotel gossip bar round corner from square was amazing and we had great nights there.
Weather was hot Everyday. boat trip we booked was shocking two supposed to get four sunbeds but had to sit on front of boat all day that was from one directly across road from vela be careful if you book with them.
