we have just returned from a two week holiday in the private hotel in Icmeler turkey, and would just like to say what a fantastic holiday we had. The hotel basic but very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in an attic room which was small but perfectly adequate the highlight for us was the pool area and the fact that you did not have to fight for a sunbed, there were plenty available all day long. The blues brothers bar at the end of the pool was brilliant and the food was excellent with buy one get one free on cocktails and local spirits, had a few heavy nights woo hoo. Thomas and all the bar staff were great and put on a good nights entertainment. The Irish bar is right next door to hotel and is noisy but only till 12 also has very good staff and entertainment, also buy one get one free on cocktails and you get 10% off at Irish Bar and Bamboo restaurant because your staying at the private hotel. The Private has a central location close to all bars, restaurants, shops, banks and the beach. Overall a fab holiday and we will be returning next year. lots of love Angela, Lee, Hollie and Maddie. xx

Stayed at the Private during mid July 2013 for 11 nights and could not complain. It was everything we expected for the price paid, It was kept extremely clean, it was comfortable and the staff were both friendly and courteous. Breakfast is Eggs, bread, cheese, toast etc - but if you want cooked, it can be got cheaply enough. It is the first time I have reviewed a stay and felt it was worthy of comment. The whole experience of Icemeler, was one of surprise - things have most certainly changed in Turkey, for the better, I can see why people return year on year. Plenty of great places to eat and the Hotel was well placed for the lot. Pool was clean and kept tidy - the boys at the Blues Bar (at the end of the pool area) were great - Danny and the boys look after you and we had some really good nights there. Eat wise, we wanted Turkish cuisine (not Fish & chips!) and found Charlies in town and Kerem on the canal were wonderful and Jasmine near our Hotel, were simple no frills wonderful food. Rush, Bamboo and Amor were also good food with the frills attached, of entertainment after your meal. Found Majestic, on canal a bit of a market - if you didn't want the entertainment, you were rushed along to finish, pay and move. Icemeler is a Beautiful place, we stayed at the right price Hotel, and found places with great food and drinks - will more than likely return.

Room Tip: We stayed at the rear of the Hotel 3rd floor - Don't think it matters, bars have to quieten down...

I have to say after reading some of the reviews on here I was a little apprehensive about the rooms. As we had paid a promo price (£26 each) we did end up with an attic room, I have to say though I could not make one complaint about this room, it was clean and spacious enough, the balcony wasnt massive but was enough to dry your washing on. The rooms are basic with a fridge and are cleaned every day with towels and bedding changed every couple of days, particularly loved the shower! We had no complaints whatsoever with our room and would happily stay in one of the attic rooms again, No noise was experienced as we were at the back of the hotel. Bar Staff and hotel staff we are all very pleasant and made our stay very welcoming especially Chris, Istan, Danny etc, I did not find them at all slimy but very courteous and wiling to do whatever to make customers happy. Sunbeds were not an issue either we managed to find a sunbed every time without any problems. We did eat at the Pool bar a couple of times and was always fine, even the cost was ok. Ate at Majestic, Richards Place (love this place) Broadway and the food was brilliant and cheap at all those places, the first night we ate at Richards Place we were invited back for breakfast at half price, even though we didnt have the breakfast they still only charged us half price for our food. Overall I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with Icmeler as I had heard so many stories that had put me of going previously but glad I have finally tried it, as I will be going back soon and will stay at Private Hotel. Hope to see you all in 2014

Stayed for 8days. On arrival in early hours, after 16 hrs travelling due to delay, thought the reception man seemed a bit miserable but it was probably because he'd just done a night shift - it was 6:20am; as it turns he and 1 other man that rotated were lovely and always greeted us kindly and asked how we were when we passed. We were shocked at how VERY basic the rooms were and at first I didnt want to stay in that hotel but after we'd got some sleep I realised it weren't that bad - it was clean and we only slept in it and went back to shower and change for tehe evening. The aircon was £40 for 8 days and it was a really good one. The balcony was small but it was enough, there was plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space for clothes, the bathroom was a bit crummy but clean - though they could do with some mr muscle mould and mildew remover lol. The pool was deep and had a seperate childs section, nearly every day there were enough sun loungers. The pool bar: Blues Brothers bar was quite cheap and friendly. Bamboo restaurant joined to the other end of hotel was great, the food, the staff and the atmosphere kept us going back they work hard to keep you entertained and to feel welcome. Entertainment is put on in most bars between 10pm-12pm. It is the law that the music has to be turned off every where apart from nightclubs at 12pm, so even though the hotel walls are paper thin and it is very loud outside, it goes quiet at 12pm. There are 2 nightclubs that I know of, I think one was ambience and one was hob nob; we went to both, ambience was much busier so had a better atmosphere but it was underground so it was hot and smokey, if hob nob was busier it would of been much nicer as it had really cool aircon. The icmeler market on wednesday was really good, be prepared to be slightly hassled and offer less than half of what they say the price is. All in all we had a great holiday, everywhere wants your custom so the turkish/curdish are all very welcoming and accomodating. On a last minute deal we paid £250pp so it was a bargain and we wouldnt of wanted to pay anymore. The weather was beautiful and still warm at night.

Stayed here for 1 wk , rooms basic but cleaned every day , breakfast what you expect to get in turkey, bread, cheese, ham, toast & jam , orange juice . Our room was directly across from irish bar which was ok to sit on balcony and watch but was noisy when you wanted to sleep . Pool is great and a good size , plenty of sun-beds and sun all day . Bar staff were amazing thomas your doing a fantastic job keep it up , we spent most evenings at our own bar as drinks were buy 1 get 1 free all night . Would defiantly recommend the bbq night . Had a great time here would deff consider returning , brilliant location only short walk to beach and central to all shops and bars .

Having just stayed 10 days at the private hotel we found the hotel very clean, comfortable and good value for money. We were checked into a room on level 4 which I would say was built for a small child. Anyone above 5ft I recommend asking for a room on a different level. For what we paid for the 10 days was worth it however I would not pay full price. Furthermore I recommend paying the extra 35pounds for air con as it does get hot especially with the Turkish heat.
Breakfast was adequate. Standard Turkish meal tomatoes, cucumber, cheese and boiled eggs.
Rooms were cleaned down everyday with a fresh towel change.
Pool and surrounding area was great, big size pool and very clean.

Staff couldn't be anymore helpful and friendly.
Finally would recommend for young adults and not for families.
Try out Irish bar across the road best entertainment and atmosphere arouund ichmeler.
Stayed 8th July 2013 for 10days.

Booked to stay here 8th July for one week on my own. The hotel staff were professional, caring and it had such a great ambience.
The pool are bar connected are owned by someone else so its a free for all for sun beds and not enough umbrellas. The bar staff were a little slimy and too touchy feely. Don't open a tab, please pay as you go.
